vivi nova heads.

So I have been looking everywhere for vivi nova replacement heads.
I finally found some and bought a bunch!!!!
And now I realized that I got GENERIC aka non visions replacement wicks.
Will these work in my AUTHENTIC visions vivi nova
or am I basically screwed?
They look the same. Anybody w/ experience in these matters?

For what it is worth.... I believe even "genuine" parts can be manufactured by different locations. I have used both and they worked but eventually gave up on the vivi in favor of the kangers and carto tanks because the vivi seemed muted. Plus, the vivi replacement heads were hit-and-miss for consistency on the ohms.

LoL i hear this all the time.. 1 store sells this model this store sells that model.. in the end they are all basicall the same except for the size of the heads they all work the same, Ive used vision, smok, and countless others and they all perform the same yet heads are different.. best advice buy from one source as there are countless manufacturers of these devices.. but in the end, they are all pretty much the same

They perform much better after being rebuilt with a better wick. It is also very easy to do. I buy spares but don't even want to use them with the wicks that come in them after doing my own.

the people that are suggesting you make you own wicks are are well meaning, but I'm reading your post like that was not an option.

I have heard that generic heads may have some undesirable manufacturing corners cut.

1) the rubber top seal may be leaky if its off by a fraction of a millimeter.
2) the metal that is used for the heating element may have lead in it.
3) the silica wick may have a funky flavor
4) the inner grommet will most likely melt if the coil isn't near perfect

Also, brand loyalty is GOOD thing. Think about computers, what would you be using if a completely new operating system came out every week? One day you have Windows then Findows then Gindows, etc. Nothing would get done. If we don't support one brand we are going to get ZERO improvements to the products that we need.

I'm going to disagree with generics and rebuilding these Vivi Nova heads. I've done both and I'm not convinced that they are better options.

I saw this happen with 510 attys we all wanted cheaper and cheaper and now we have nothing worth using.

nothing wrong with brand loyalty but rebuilding heads doesn't kill brand loyalty. When you by a T shirt do you buy a new one every time it gets dirty? or do you wash it. Kind of the same thing.

That being said I screwed up bought non-visions products and want to know if they will work.

Depends on what you mean by "generic"...

If you mean your Vivi Nova tank is a Vision unit, and the new heads you bought have little metal nipple that pokes up through the seal on top, then no, those heads will NOT work. They are a little too tall, and won't let you screw down the top cap, and then they will leak everywhere, and won't work properly.

If the heads you bought look just like the ones that came with your Vivi Nova, then they should work. Sometimes, they don't seal perfectly, and leak a little through the center post, but they usually work OK.

Depending on the resistance you are looking for, you can usually get them from AquVaporCig.com. They usually have all three versions in stock (1.8, 2.4, and 2.8 ohm). They used to sell them in 5-packs, but their website only has singles listed now. I get all my Vivi Nova replacement heads from AquaVapor. They ship fast, and frequently have fantastic sale prices...
