Just received my VN 2.5 and I have to say, I love it! I'm pretty new to vaping and have been experimenting with different things, trying to find what I like. My Bolt mod + VN is letting me really enjoy vaping (along with the awesome juice I just got; Pearberry from EliteVaporWorks).

So onto the problem; I filled it with juice when I first got it and when I had noticed a slick feeling on the tank. I figured that maybe I got some juice on the outside of the tank while filling. So with everything put together, I wiped everything down really good. But I kept feeling the slick feeling after awhile and I started thinking there was a leak. There was. I removed the VN from my Bolt and wrapped it in a white napkin, and let it sit. Sure enough, juice started to come through the napkin at the bottom the threads of the tank.:(

When I look closely in bright light, I can see that the juice is clearly seeping through the threads and the tiny o-ring is not stopping the juice from leaking outside of the tank. I've read other threads here about leaking issues and have checked all possible causes; crossthreading, wicks stuck in threads, etc. It's none of those. I just think the o-ring is too small.

So my question is, could I just put some teflon tape (plumber's tape) on the threads? Do you think there will be a reaction with the juice?

I know it's only a $9 tank, but I'd still like to fix it if I can.

Well, I put the plumber's tape on the threads and it doesn't leak anymore. :D

So all is well for now. I might pick up one of the new metal Vivi Nova tanks to try out some time.

If you're talking about the new STV metal windowed nova, I have one. It leaks too.

I got it the day it came out. It vapes fantastically though. I am ordering more but also just placed an order for one of those replacement all metal tubes for the nova. I think I misthreaded the STV when I first got it and possibly cracked one of the threads. It's plastic on the inside with a metal layer glued on the outside so the threading is still plastic.

Here's hoping that the metal on metal threading won't have that issue.

Quite a few folks have reported this issue. Myself included. It is exactly what you said. The bottom o ring is the culprit. I just returned mine and got a new one from the vendor. Other folks have had success finding the o rings at their local auto parts store. They should really sell replacement o rings as it seems to be a continuing trend but I was unable to find them at any of the vendors I tried. If all else fails, the Teflon/plumbers tape is a good idea. If ya find them any place let us know. Good luck.

I know this is an old thread but here's a link for where I get my oring replacements. This link is for the orings on the stv tank but they have many different sizes, i'm sure they have what every body needs. STV best results from the 1.3mm x 10mm with aluminum tank
