Been using a vivi nova tank with my ego 1000mah battery for about a week and it was brilliant, good vapor excellent flavour etc. Just got my vamo in the post. Set it to 3v to connected it to the same tank and now the taste is off. Cant figure it out. Have tried upping the voltage gradually but cant seem to find a sweet spot. 2 ohms tank according to vamo so what voltage is recommended ? Ive looked at the charts but the information on them doesnt seem to help much :S

Menthol flavor if thats relevant and it mutes the flavor and in replacement i have a wierd taste.

Also got a brand new v5 vivi nova tank today. Pretty sure a knock off and getting the same odd flavor off that tank aswell....

Cheers,
JP

Hi Justin - first question that is always asked, did you put the Vamo into No 2 mode which is the RMS mode? You cna chweck by holding down one of the small buttons for about ten seconds until it shows NO 1 or NO 2. You want it to show NO 2. That's the accurate mode. NO 1 is an average and your pv will be hitting harder than you setting.

As for the volts for the ohms - 3 volts seems low for a 2 ohm attachment to me.
If you put that same vivi niva with juice back on the ego now - does it taste ok?

Set it back to 2 but the smell is still there. Is it possible ive ruined the wick or coil by using the wrong setting ? Smell remains even on old device. Gonna remove the tank and wash it then try a new head and start a 3 volts and see if the taste is still there. If it remains it must be something to do with the new wicks/coil on my v5 clearomizer right ?

You might have some burned gunk on the coils now. See how a good clean goes. I haven't used a v5 so don't know if you can dry burn those. If the heads aren't salvageable I'd try some new ones and start at low volts and work up. Or low watts and work up.
