I hope I am posting this in the correct forum...

I'm looking at purchasing 2 of these tomorrow, one for me to try and one for my husband to try. I'm not sure if this will need a "Beauty Ring" or not, if so, which one do I get and where do I get them?

I was also wondering if anyone has tried these? I have a CE4 clearo, pretty much disposable since it is not the rebuildable type. I flood mine every so often when it leans or falls over, and it has been leaking out the bottom since I purchased it, will I run into these issues with this tank?

Any reviews on this from anyone here? I know these are fairly new, so I'm just looking for general information or general consensus on functionality.

I use a knockoff Ego CE battery, hubby uses an Ego T both 650mAH.

I dont know how much is nova pyrex but I paid $15 for the tank (smoktech) and $10 for tip.

The thing is, you will need to buy some cartomizers but this can be tricky. Because I wasted like 4 cartomizers over the weekend. Each carto will cost you $2 a pop. And if used properly, it should last 4-7 days.

Get the Kanger Protank. All you need to replace is an atomizer and it costs you $3.50.....best part: they will last up to 4 weeks

eGo-v knock off, eVic, ProVari mini, Smoktech Pyrex DCT, RY4 Kustom

Moved to Assorted PV Topics - Clearomizers

Thank you, and my apologies...still new and learning where everything goes.

Kpmeth- I won't use those anymore, they were a pain to refill and they only lasted me a few hours. I vape between 2-3ML a day. I need quick reloading since I have my hands full all day with 6 kiddos.

I think but am not sure the Vivi nova pyrex IS a CLEAROMIZER. Not a carto tank. If this is true you don't nead cartomizers for it. As for how well it performs I have no idea. I have a love hate relationship with my plastic and metal vivi novas. I seem to be cursed with leaking onto the battery with them. Other people love them so it could be user error on my part.

If you want glass have you looked at the Kanger protank? Mine has been running like a champ since I got it well over a month ago with never a leak.

EDIT: Just reread and noticed you said you don't like protanks. My bad. Tired forum answering is not good. :(

They go under many names - thread cone, trim ring, thread ring etc but the most popular *appears* to be "beauty ring". This one from Mt Baker Vapor seens to be quite useful as it has a couple of slots for airflow and so won't choke the Vivis:
Convex Ego Shorty Cone - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

Myrany is quite right, and you've already figured out that you do not use cartomisers with this top coil clearomiser. You will need to also purchase a supply of replacement heads for them as well as you can expect to get one to two weeks use out of a Vivi head. Myrany and I both rebuild these heads, however that is something that you and your husband may not want to do.

I was also wondering if anyone has tried these? I have a CE4 clearo, pretty much disposable since it is not the rebuildable type. I flood mine every so often when it leans or falls over, and it has been leaking out the bottom since I purchased it, will I run into these issues with this tank?

To a large extent the technology in both of these is extremely similar - both being top coil clearomisers. Some of the CE4 stardust devices are however some of the worst leakers I have come across. They are cheaply made and it's not possible to fix any little problems.

I suggest you get a few Vivi heads from different suppliers and find out which ones work best for you. If you don't actually want to rebuild or fiddle with the heads yourself you might have to try a few different brands/manufacturers to work out which is best for the way you and your husband like to use them.

Any reviews on this from anyone here? I know these are fairly new, so I'm just looking for general information or general consensus on functionality.

I'm having trouble getting to that link at the moment but I'm fairly sure it's just standard Vivi Nova technology but with a glass pyrex tank. This means that it's more suitable for all e-liquids including ones that would normally damage a plastic tank such as citrus, cinnamon, and menthol. I'm sure you will enjoy using it and it's a great step up from Stardusts and the Ego-T system.

I was going to suggest that you get a couple of spinner batteries from MadVapes while you were getting the Vivi Novas but I see they are out of stock. These are variable voltage batteries that would also enhance your experience if you feel that you and your husband are ready for it. Maybe next time?

Thanks for the replies everyone! I went ahead and ordered 2 of the Smoketech Nova Pyrex clearo's I guess since they are not considered tanks. And I ordered a bunch of extra head's all from madvapes today. I'm still learning and still new to all of this and just trying to figure out what I like and don't like. I like my CE4 when it doesn't leak and drown out my batteries but I needed something glass so that my juices wouldn't eat through them, and the Protank I don't care for too much. I also went ahead and ordered some beauty rings from MBV as well, and now I am looking for new drip tips since reviews say the clear plastic drip tips on the Pyrex nova's are fairly cheap-ish. So now I'm just sitting and waiting for vapemail, and I guess will give a review once I have them in. Thanks again for all the amazing feedback and of course all the amazing help! You are all very appreciated and wonderful!

rounding third and heading home...
I purchased 2 of these($8.99 each). they are pretty good. one had a crooked post where you screw the coil in-without the coil in look straight down and you see a small circular post which should be in the middle. mine was nearly touching the side wall and I had to move it into the center(with tweezers) or it wouldn't line up when you screw in the coil. my wife uses them for her citrusy , fruity juices and they seem to be working fine. I know if they weren't I would hear about it! no leaks, fine vapor and good flavor-what else is there?
