I've got a nice legacy by Pure Smoker, love the damn thing. It def boosts my man pride since I have a couple of friends that vape smaller rigs. BUT, even though I have a purse and bigger is better in my eyes, I would like to carry something sightly smaller for convince sake. There is a brick and mortar shop near my house that sells vivi novas. I know almost nothing about them and would like to get some specs. What's the voltage on vivis? Do they produce some good vapor? Can I add a tank to them? I noticed last time i went into the shop they had these funky looking tanks that had super long wicks instead of double punched cartos. Just wondering how they are in general? I'm not a big fan of huge throat hits (tho I noticed that it's usually based on the vg/pg percentage). I feel really outta the loop since I just got back into vaping a few months ago (I had a sexy cig replica back in the day that I dripped with),

So yeah, I feel like a I'm having to relearn everything with the voltages and ohms. tanks are fairly new to me, so I like em but I'm not anywhere near expert level.

How easy would it be to transition to a vivi nova?

Welcome back to vaping and ECF Myra!

Your Legacy is a battery holder or power supply. Vivi Nova's are top coil tanks/clearomizers that hold juice and you would screw one onto your Legacy. They come with three different replaceable heads (which have the coil in them) at 1.8 ohms, 2.4 ohms and 2.8 ohms I think. They come in two sizes, 2.5 ml and 3.5 ml. I have a couple and they work great for me. These are the ones that have the long wicks in them.

For a very good explanation of different juice delivery systems you can't go wrong reading Baditude's ECF blog article here.

As far as chosing a smaller mod, or power supply, there are a lot to chose from these days. You need to know if you want to stay mechanical like the Legacy, go variable voltage, variable wattage and of course the smaller you go the less vaping time between charges you will get. Throat hit, vapor production and flavor are much more influenced by juice delivery system and the juice itself.

I like the mechanical mods sim to the legacy, my friend had a nice 'pen style' one that is a mech style that I dig but he can change the wattage (I think...) but it's super harsh and I hate his! my other analog smokers tend to like mine over his tho he was always a heavy smoker and I've always been a kind of smoke every now and then, and especially when I' drinking kind of person. I just like something easy for the most part. I like that I can charge my batteries, load up my tank and be good for a few days.

My legacy is huge compared to most, even when I went to go get juice, the guy freaked about how big my legacy is. I only mind it when I go without a purse and lately I have been feeling like I would like something smaller since I'm not a heavy vapor.

They rob flavor and throat hit but would probably be perfect for you since you said you're not a fan of throat hit. They're really the easiest, most consistent way to vape besides a carto tank (which I hate) and are super easy to clean and maintain since you can replace the heads. I have 3 but just bought a kanger protank which gives more flavor and eliminates the need to constantly tip upsidedown (vivi's have wicks which need to be kept soaked in juice in order to hit well). Maybe check em out - Kanger Protank Glassomizer by KangerTech - Sun-Vapers.com

A clearomizer is a clear cartomizer that utilizes wicks instead of the fluffy pollyfill in cartos.

so instead of a carto you just have the atomizer and then liquid directly feeding into it? Does this reduce the chance of dry hit (which only happens when I'm with my brother who kills my tanks like no other...)?

My friend says he rarely gets consistent vaps with clearo. It seems like it should be more consistent? I like a device I can deal with while drinking, which is why I tend to go for the tank carto combo. From what I've seen, with heavy vaping with clearos I would have to tip alot to avoid getting an inconsistent hit?

Okay got most of that but what in the world is A clearo?

Hello Myra! Where have you been??? Forget the penstyle, the 2-piece and 3-piece, and Lipton tea bags and blue foam. ;) We've come a long way, baby!

This is a clearo, my favorite model, to be exact:

images

An empty tank and an atomizing coil on the bottom. Comes apart for easy filling and cleaning. And when your coil gets gunked up, just unscrew it and pop in a new one. The dirty one can be cleaned, dry burned or chucked, whichever you prefer.

Welcome back!

As long as you're using a bottom coil device (BCC) and just make sure that the coil is moist at all times (but not overvaping), you should be fine. I've been using my BCCs (bottom coil changeable) atties for quite a while--never had a problem. Tabac BCC, Kanger T3, T3 mini, eVod--they are all good!

t3 is the same as a protank only plastic and not as cool looking...

Yeah, but the protank is massive and really designed to be used on big mods, like ProVari. If you have eGos, the BCCs work just as well but are eGo threaded, while Protank requires an adapter (and will make your eGo look like a mushroom.);)

Welcome back!

I've been under a rock for the past year and a half smoking analogs after my old e-cig broke!
terrible times! I now have been dating someone highly allergic (susceptible to asthma attacks T_T) to cigarette smoke, and have reverted back to e-cigs in an attempt to keep him healthy and happy.

okay I think I'm getting all this jargon, but what is dry burning? I'm all for keeping the world green so I would rather re-use than chunk...

you're pretty :)

also I love my vivi nova and I'm a noob so I don't think you'll have a problem.
I'd recommend an ego twist and a mini vivi nova, just because that's my current setup :)

um With a cartomizer or clearomizer you don't need an atomizer.
It's built in.
