Taken from Volcano's site:

"HAWAII GENERAL EXCISE TAX
Volcanoecigs.com is owned and operated in the state of Hawaii. Hawaii does not have a sales tax; instead, we have the general excise tax, which is assessed on all business activities. The tax rate is .15% for insurance Commission, .50% for Wholesaling, Manufacturing, Producing, Wholesale Services, and Use Tax on Imports For Resale, and 4% for all others. This tax rate is applied to all purchases made from Volcanoecigs.com in accordance to our state laws and tax code."

The Inferno-T is still a good deal...remember to use the 10% off code: epuffdirect

LOL. Imagine that! I could have found my answer on THEIR site! *facepalm*

Passing on the Inferno-T out of principle. Buying an Ego-T tax free.

I can understand you not wanting to pay tax, but if you can get it from them at the same price or cheaper you shouldn't hold it against them for living in Hawaii and haveing the state demand tax. It's not like he is pocketing that extra money. He still has a buisness to run and if everyone stays away from him because of the tax, well he probably won't have the buisness very long. But if you are getting it cheaper from another vendor then yes by all means I would skip it too! Tax sucks I know! Unfortunately Illinois wants us to start keeping a record of what we purchase online from anywhere and claim it on our tax forms! There is actually a box on this years 1040 to claim online purchases! Absolutely ridiculous, they have no way of tracking our purchases so they want us to keep track and claim them...yea right they are not getting one cent from me!

I personally love Volcano....they have outstanding customer service and from my experience with them...they stay on top of it. I had a question about the pcc for my e-cig. All I asked cs was if there was a reset or something for me to try as I had seen in their threads some similar issue. Went to the threads just before sending that email asking for suggestions and in less than an hour there was a post and an email to me that they had already sent a package out for me! OUTSTANDING in my book. I didn't put in a complaint, just asked a question and they were on it! That means more to me than having to pay tax.

The only thing keeping me away from the Inferno is that I don't really care for the look.

Even with the tax (very small) their products are the cheapest out there that I've found. And I ordered last week from them...got some tankomizers and some tanks, and the shipping was $1.29! Even with the tax added to the shipping, it was under three dollars. And they only charge $11.00 for the tankomizer and $3.99 for five tanks. You're cutting your nose off to spite your face if you pay way more than those prices for the same product.

My Oklahoma local storefront has started charging Oklahoma tax. I hate it, but I pay it because they're having to pay it, and I'm just so happy to have a walk in store 8 miles from my house. (The tax I'm paying is offset by the shipping I'm NOT paying. Works for me.)

I live in Tulsa. The shop I'm talking about is Vapor Kings. They just opened a storefront in Sand Springs (which I call a suburb of Tulsa...but they may not call themselves that. LOL) Anyway, it's really, really handy to just stop by and pick up an atty or a box of cartos. And they are super, super nice. It's fun to go there and just "talk vaping." :)

Damn, I just recently moved from OK. after 13 years, granted I was in the Norman area, but it's good to hear there's hope for that area!

The Internet
My only argument about the tax, as I have told them, is that the terms link should be posted right next to the tax section in your shopping cart. I am paying them. I don't want to have to run around trying to find why they are charging me tax. They need to learn about disclosure. I'm sure that everybody would understand if they knew how their taxes work, but they hide it, and I do not like them for that. I have spent plenty of money elsewhere, and sent plenty of people elsewhere because of it. Really, how hard is it to put a link?

LOL. Yes, there's hope. Ha. My daughter and her family (my grandbabies!!) live in Mustang. I go there a lot. I can't remember the name of it right now, but I know there's a vendor in Lawton. (Not a storefront...just an online vendor.) Probably more. I keep hearing about 7-11 selling disposable kits. OKC is full of 7-11s. We don't have any of those up here in Tulsa...we have Quik Trips instead. So.....yeh...vaping is going strong in Oklahoma. Just to make you homesick (NOT!!!) we had 20 inches of snow two weeks ago, and today it's 78 degrees. Remind you of Oklahoma? LOL

Awesome! We owned a home in Mustang for 5 years. Love that area.

Still undecided if I'm liking the Oregon area. Too damn many bureaucrats and ex-hippies passing laws "for my own good" as far as I can see so far. You'd think a "green" state like this would be jumping ALL over PVs, prevent forest fires, no second-hand smoke, etc...but NOOOOO...they're trying to ban their sales right and left here...idgits.

If Volcano was trying to hide it, it would not even be shown......and if someone is buying an inferno kit......the few bucks they pay in sales tax doesn't come close to the cost of priority shipping...which is free for orders over 50.00

FREE USPS Prioritry Mail Shipping on orders over $50

So you are still saving there alone.

I have no doubt they have excellent customer service. I have no doubt they sell a great product at a great price.

I may have purchased had I known from looking at my shopping cart that their local laws require them to collect tax from out of state online orders.... maybe.

I have no representation in HI and therefore I choose to pay no taxes to that state. Just a personal choice.
