Hello there fellow masters of the old art secrets of vaping, drop your wands, take off your magical robes and let us get started with today's review.
(sorry for the weird intro, semi gf made me watch Harry Potter yesterday so i am still suffering from PTSD
Going to review the Argus G which was sent to me by Voopoo for the purposes of this review,as per usual let us get a quick compendium going in the form of pictures that will give you a general idea of what this device is about.
Specs:
Safety:
Battery:
Compatibility:
Cartridges/coils:
Breakdown of the Cartridge with the 0.7 and 1.2 ohm coils:
Unboxing and first impressions:
Proper packaging, open the box and slide out a tray which shows the device in question.
I got the ''racing green'' color and oh boy it does look shiny, pretty good paint job with some minimal branding.
It slick looking and the surface of the pod is smooth to the touch, made out of alloy zinc it does feel well designed.
Fire button located on the front does feel a bit ''small'' but that could just be me and my Andre the Giant sized hands he he.
All you need to start vaping is inside the box, small little baggie with the following contents:
Argus Pod Cartridge 07. ohm
Argus Pod Cartridge 1.2 ohm
Argus Pod Platform Card (small card with the information of the different coils, wattages that you can use with this device)
Type-C cable
User Manual
Lanyard
Good to see that once again Voopoo didn't skimp and included a second cartridge/coil with this box, other companies could learn from this.
This device comes in 7 beautiful colors to choose from:
-gloss black
-space grey
-racing green
-glow pink
-sand drift gold
-aurora blue
-satin blue
Vaping time:
Ok so the device got charged to 100% (full charge takes about an hour),both coils the 1.2 and 0.7 ohm soaking up my e-liquid for 10 minutes so i am ready to get this party started...oh wait.
Forgot to mention,Voopoo also sent me some empty cartridges and 2 coils (0-5ohms) to test this device out when it goes full RDL,yeah right this isn't just a pure MTL device.
Thanks to the 0.5 ohm coils you can get a proper RDL experience,in my book more options is always better.
Before testing the quality of the vape i have to go over the menu system of this device.
Pretty simple to operate since it relies on just the fire button for all actions you may require to do in the menu.
-To power up press fire button 5 times in a row.
-To turn off the pod device press the fire button 5 times, menu will pop up then press the fire button ONCE to cycle thru the options until you get to ''power off'',keep fire button pressed and voila!! device is turned off.
-Wattage adjustment is done by pressing the fire button 3 times, once you get the number of the wattage flashing just keep pressing the fire button until you reach the desired number.
-Lock and puff counter can also be accessed in the menu, press fire button 5 times then navigate to either of them.
Even with the device locked you can still use the autodraw feature, that itself isn't a problem since its probably going to be in your purse or pocket there is not way the pod is going to autodraw itself.
For this review i decided to stick to my usual 70/30 (6mg nic) Shiva e-liquid,added some vanilla to the mix for that a little sweetness i mean come on we all need some sweetness am i right?
So now looking at my desk i got 3 different coils to choose from, going to start with the MTL and work my way up to RDL which means first I'll try the 1.2 ohm coil, then the 0.7 coil (both included in the kit) and to finish i will test the 0.5 ohm coil for that true RDL experience.
The 1.2 ohm?
Good flavor, true MTL with airflow closed all the way...well not really.
Even if you close it all the way you still have a tiny hole on the side so some air does get thru it.
To be honest this is the coil i enjoyed the least, that is not the fault of the coil itself, that is all on me...just not that into that restricted of a MTL user so i quickly moved on to the 0.7 ohm which is also included in the kit.
Now we talking!!
Pumped up the wattage to 16w,airflow fully open and oh yeah baby that hits the spot.
Can't really put my finger on it but to me it felt like a really airy loose MTL close like really close borderline i dare say to RDL.
The 0.7 i used for a full day and almost exclusively, maybe a couple of hits of my daily sub-ohm tank but yeah i stuck with this one.
Ok so i was pretty pumped to give the 0.5ohm a try but...i expected more, now now this is just what my expectations were compared to the 0.7/1.2 coils.
Thought that at 25 watts i would get like more bang bang!! type of hit, this is not a critique on the coil itself but truth be told i kinda enjoyed the 0.7 ohm more.
The 0.7 ohm i used all the time with airflow fully open and long slow drags....man oh man this this hits and hits hard, even with a 70/30 proportion and only 6mg nic i was going into Paradise City territory with this coil (Guns'n'Roses reference he he)
Pros:
-Love the aesthetics, paint job is well done and not just like the one color.
Color scheme gets darker on the bottom and gradually gets lighter on its way to the top
-Well designed and well built, small size but you get no feeling of ''cheapness or fragile'' when holding it.
-Coil performance very good, options for all...want MTL? you got it,want RDL? you also got that
-Auto draw delivers the same power and performance as the fire button
Cons:
-Not really that much of a con and this is just a personal issue.
The surface just felt a tad to ''slick'' for my taste, sometimes i got the sensation the pod was leaking and/or it felt kinda wet.
But again not really a con, just personal preference since i prefer some ruggedness in my vaping devices.
Would i recommend this device:
Well if you're in the market for a small pod like device and you're a newcomer to the vaping world then yes this would be the device for you, same if you're a veteran of the vaping arts.
One thing i like about the Argus G is that if you are new to vaping this device will let you experience both modes of vaping,MTL then RDL.
Some folks who quit cigarettes and start with vaping might prefer to do so in RDL mode, this device gives you that option.
Well that's it for today folks.
Thanks to my friends from Voopoo for sending me this device for review purposes, for more info you can check it out here:

If you made it all the way down here thanks for the support and i hope you enjoyed my review.
