VOOPOO ARGUS G4 & ARGUS G4 Mini Review

VOOPOO recently added two new devices to the ARGUS lineup: the ARGUS G4 and the ARGUS G4 Mini. The main focus this time is the new Multi-Ohm cartridge system, which lets you switch resistances using the same pod instead of swapping coils or cartridges constantly.

I tested both devices side-by-side and honestly think the concept is pretty interesting, especially for people who switch between tighter MTL and more open RDL vaping throughout the day.

Design

Both devices have a clean and minimal design that feels more premium than a lot of pod systems currently on the market. The metal construction gives them a solid feel without becoming too heavy.

The ARGUS G4 is clearly the more feature-packed device. You get the display, wattage adjustments, menu controls, and a slightly more premium overall feel. The screen is bright and easy to read, and the UI is simple enough that you don’t really need to dig through menus constantly.

The G4 Mini feels more straightforward and portable. It’s lighter and slimmer, which some people will probably prefer for carrying around all day. Personally though, I found myself using the regular G4 much more often. The wattage adjustment and extra control made it feel far more versatile, especially combined with the 0.4Ω mode.

One thing I really like on both devices is that the airflow adjustment is smooth and actually usable. Some pod systems barely change when adjusting airflow, but here you can noticeably switch between a tighter MTL draw and a more open RDL vape.

Pods

The new ARGUS Multi-Ohm cartridge is definitely the main attraction here.

Instead of changing coils or swapping pods constantly, you can switch resistance modes using the same pod. On the ARGUS G4 you get three options:

  • 0.7Ω in standard position
  • 1.0Ω when flipping the pod 180°
  • 0.4Ω by double-pressing the button
The G4 Mini supports 0.7Ω and 1.0Ω through the flip system, but doesn’t include the 0.4Ω mode.

It sounds gimmicky at first, but it actually works surprisingly well. The differences between the resistances are noticeable enough to make it genuinely useful instead of just marketing.

The 1.0Ω setting gives a tighter and smoother MTL vape with lower power consumption. The 0.7Ω mode feels more balanced and is probably what most people will use daily. Personally though, the 0.4Ω mode on the regular G4 was easily my favorite. The warmer vapor, stronger airflow, and ability to increase wattage made the device feel much more satisfying for RDL vaping.

Flavor quality is really solid across all modes. The iCOSM CODE 2.0 tech seems to help with consistency because I didn’t notice dry hits, leaking, or major flavor drop-off during testing.

Top filling is also super convenient since you don’t need to remove the pod every time.

Performance

Battery life on both devices is excellent. 1650mAh is pretty large for pod systems this size, and I rarely felt worried about charging during the day.

The ARGUS G4 charges especially fast. Getting a full charge in around 45 minutes is genuinely convenient if you use it heavily.

Performance also stays consistent even when the battery gets lower, which is something cheaper pod systems often struggle with.

The regular G4 definitely feels like the stronger and more complete device overall. Being able to adjust wattage makes a surprisingly big difference, especially together with the 0.4Ω mode. It gives you much more control over warmth, airflow feel, and vapor production.

The G4 Mini still performs well and feels beginner-friendly, but personally I found the regular G4 much more enjoyable to use daily.

Pros

  • Innovative Multi-Ohm cartridge system
  • One pod works for multiple vaping styles
  • Great flavor consistency
  • Excellent battery life on both devices
  • Fast charging on ARGUS G4
  • Smooth adjustable airflow
  • Premium metal construction
  • Full ARGUS pod compatibility
  • 0.4Ω mode + wattage adjustment feels genuinely versatile

Cons

  • Limited customization options on the Mini compared to the regular G4
  • ARGUS G4 menu controls can feel slightly overwhelming for beginners
  • No 0.4Ω option on the Mini

Verdict

I honestly think the Multi-Ohm system is one of the more interesting pod innovations released recently. It sounds simple on paper, but in actual daily use it’s genuinely convenient being able to switch vaping styles without carrying multiple pods.

The ARGUS G4 is definitely the standout device for me. The combination of the 0.4Ω mode and wattage adjustment makes it feel far more customizable and enjoyable than most pod systems I’ve tried recently. It’s versatile enough to handle both tighter MTL vaping and much more open RDL vaping depending on how you set it up.

The G4 Mini is still a solid option for people who prefer simplicity and portability, but personally I didn’t use it nearly as much as the regular G4.

Another big thanks to VOOPOO for sending me these to review. I really enjoyed testing them and I’m excited to see where they take the ARGUS lineup next.
