The Voopoo Argus Matrix is the newest release of the famous ARGUS family. The device boosts a full-sized curved display with cyber-tech visuals - Voopoo brought us the future of vaping to the present this summer!
Color and design:
I received the device in Lake Green and there are a total of 5 colors available (Carbon Black, Navy Blue, Iris Blue, Lake Green, Astral Silver). Voopoo stayed with their well-established and most practical vape-pen like design of the ARGUS family. However, the device has been sent out to space and returned with a blasting eye-catching outfit. The whole device is wrapped in a glossy metallic coating and is equipped with a breathing Gene chip that pumps life to this vaping masterpiece. I’ve seen a gold wrapped Tesla the other day, this design reminds me of that car. Flowing white and blue signals are streaming upside to the illuminated core chip throughout the curved display with every puff you take. Through the aerospace window you will have insight to the mainboard and the display that shows your current wattage and puff duration in milliseconds. At the bottom resides the USB-C charging port surrounded by a rubber plate. At the left there is a firm metallic airflow adjuster slide and at the right you have the function button. At the back there is a discrete ARGUS Matrix engraving. By pressing the function button 3 times you can adjust the wattage. Pressing the function button 2 times turns off the visuals. Pressing the function button 5 times turns off/on the device.
Battery performance:
The device has a decent 1350 mAh built in battery and supports 2A fast-charging; it charges in about 50 minutes. It gave me a good 3 days of heavy use with one charge.
The battery level is indicated at the front with 5 simplistic white led bars:
Size and weight:
120*27.9*16.5 mm, 70 grams. Made of zinc alloy and IML film.
Compared to the other ARGUS family members it is similar in size with the ARGUS G2 Mini and taller than the G3 Mini. Do note that those have no display or wattage adjustment.
Pod/Cartridge:
The kit comes with two ARGUS V2 Top Fill cartridges: a 0.4-ohm and a 0.7-ohm. My favourite cartridge is the 0.7-ohm, running at 16 Watts. I filled it with a 20 mg Menthol Gum nic salt and enjoy the visuals and flavorful burst of energy with every puff. It gives a powerful MTL hit with the airflow closed at 2/3. By the airflow fully opened you can achieve a restricted DL vape. The cartridge connects very firmly, without any wiggles and can be refilled while attached to the device.
With the wattage adjustment you can set the 0.4-ohm cartridge between 18-30W. The 0.7-ohm can be adjusted between 15-18W and the 1.0-ohm between 12-14W. The Gene chip automatically detects which cartridge is inserted, displays its resistance and automatically sets the best wattage. The ARGUS Top Fill Cartridge V2 features iCOSM 2.0 technology - it delivers 30 days leak-proof experience, steady flavor and up to 100 ml e-liquid endurance. These cartridges are the best in class and cross-compatible through the ARGUS line!
Final verdict:
Every curve and detail are a result of Voopoo’s well thought professional manufacturing process that only enhances the excellence of their well-proven ARGUS V2 cartridges. There is no con that can be given this time, the device is simply perfection! Maybe you need to clean the device more often as it likes finger prints.
