Once again I say hello and welcome back for today's review of a new edition to the Argus family lineup from Voopoo. As the title states the Argus P1s is a pod device in a very simplistic form being all automatic as far as wattage output, airflow using only the auto draw method and a fixed airflow setting. Having no physical buttons makes it as easy as it gets, the Argus P1s houses a 800mAh internal battery with a very fast 20 minute charge time using 2a charging. After some product information from the manufacturer ( VOOPOO ) I'll give you what my findings were using the Argus P1s, lets get started with my review of the Argus P1s shall we.

FIRST IMPRESIONS


Packaging is a basic tray inside a box holding the device with the 0.7Ω pod preinstalled, lifting the tray out and turning it over you will find all the included components for this kit neatly packaged in a plastic bag that is tucked into the backside of the plastic tray, Voopoo often uses this way of shipping there pod devices and I like it.

I was sent the Cyber White color that in my opinion looks attractive with a upscaled classy appearance. The center of the device is clear showing the board and a three bar battery indicator of led lights that will illuminate different colors when charging or vaping, the lights are not overdone and are just the right size to be functional while still being attractive.

I wanted to charge the device to it's full capacity before testing and that's when I noticed the very bright LED lights, charge time took maybe 5 min to fully charge and the USB-C charge port is on the bottom of the device which gives it a nice clean streamlined appearance.

Pulling the pod off I noticed it was held in place using 2 magnets that are not displayed visually on the pod itself but can be seen on the Argus P1s device. Voopoo puts a plastic sticker on the bottom of the device preventing any accidental firing during shipping, this sticker must be removed before using.

Having a clear pod or lightly tinted one makes all the difference and Voopoo did a great job with this pod, you have no problem seeing the juice level in any light setting, I wish all manufacturers would implement this feature because it really makes a big difference.

I'm happy to report that the juice fill port is of a nice size and I've had zero issues filling the pod but the fill port plug is really flimsy and I don't see it holding up for a long time but these pods are throw away so it shouldn't be a issue just don't be rough with it.

Airflow will make or break a device and with the Argus P1s you have no adjustment it's fixed using a single airflow hole on each side, having a hole on both sides makes the airflow even out for a smooth vape. The auto draw works very well giving a loose MTL or a very RDL vape, for me and my style of MTL it works great, this not for those of you that like a tight MTL vape.

As most of you know my preference for MTL coils is a 0.7Ω or 0.8Ω and the 0.7Ω works great with just the right amount of throat hit as well as warmth I like. The 1.2Ω is also good but lacks the warmer vape of the 0.7Ω pod Voopoo is known for coils that put out great flavor and these pods definitely follow suite in that category.

These new ICOSM pods are really good and are lasting a long time. You can use the original Argus pods in the Argus P1s as well as the ITO coils using a empty pod cartridge so it's pretty versatile and having the smart feature the device will output up to 25W and it will select the correct output automatically according to the coil resistance of the pod installed.

I want to also point out that although in the picture below it's standing upright it's very easily knocked over because of the tapered bottom design of the device so always lay it down when not in use to prevent damage to the device from falls and knock overs.

FINAL IMPRESSIONS





I really am impressed with the performance of the Argus P1s as well as Voopoo seeming to make one winner after another vaping devices. I can't really find any flaws with this device except for the flimsy fill port plug and the ability to fall easily when stood upright, plus there are no replaceable coils only replaceable pods using the ICOSM coil tech but original Argus pods as well as ITO coils can be used.

Everything works and works very well and I will highly recommend the Argus P1s if you like a loose MTL or very tight RDL vape. Voopoo states that the pods lifespan is 23 days which I can say is pretty close and having further choices of pods using the ICOSM is a plus as well.

0.5 Ω: massive clouds, strong taste

0.7 Ω: smooth airflow, high resolution

1.0 Ω: thin vapor, mild flavor

1.2 Ω: tight draw, multi-layer flavor

With the 0.7Ω pod the flavor is very good to even great, I'm still using it as we speak.

Maybe it was the flavor profiles I chose. I wish extra pods had been sent so I could have tried different types of recipes.

That could be it, I always test pod device's with the same juice I use daily in a RTA so I know the flavor profile very well.

I used two I’m very familiar with and have used a lot. Not all flavor profiles are good with every device.

It seems like they continue to rehash the same products that are only slightly different than their previous releases. 600-800 mAh (advertised), same voltage ranges, same wattage ranges, same lighting system (just looks different), same side airflow, etc.

I'm wondering how they doubled the coil life of their original Argus pods without releasing a new version? Or did they just revamp the old ones and not give them a new name? Very odd, coming from VooPoo that's known to create new nomenclature affixes for any little change in their releases.

Regardless, your review was well done. I especially like all of the pictures.

I'm with you on the battery size. There used to be variations, and now all we're seeing are super small battery devices. I wish stuff like the Havok V1 would come back.

I still use the havok V1 and I agree , the Havok V1 is a great out and about device.
