VooPoo X217 Review
Unboxing:
Once opening the box you find the manual for the X217. Underneath that is the mod itself. Going to the second layer you'll find two battery converters and a decent length USB cable.
The X217 :
The mod is oval in shape and fits the hand perfectly. The only place it says X217 is on the bottom on the battery door. The X217 uses two batteries. While made for 21700 it comes with converters to use 18650s. The battery door is on the bottom and is opened by pressing on it. You must slide it at the same time so it won't come open accidentally. Once you've installed the batteries you can turn the X217 on or off by clicking the fire button five times. You can also lock it by pressing the fire button and up button at the same time. The vape itself is heavier than I thought it would be but not so heavy I worried I'd drop it. The oval design is great! Extremely comfortable with no edges digging into my hand. The 510 pin is centered and a tank will sit flush with the mod.
All the menus worked as advertised. To change modes click the power button three times. 3 modes total: Power, TC, and Settings. Once you select a mode pressing the + and - buttons together will give you access. Settings controls the mod settings. All the needed features are here. As far as usage goes, they have improved the menu system a lot and mixed with the nicer bigger screen it’s much easier to navigate than the older GENE chipped mods. It also auto-sets your wattage on a new coil which is cool. I tested this mod with two different atties and coils including SS316 so I could use temp control. Everything worked easily.
The LED light runs in an almost U shape on the front of the mod. The light blinks faster the longer you inhale. You can set the lights to rainbow, 3 color choices and off. I'm not sure why there aren't more options.
The vape itself is very attractive with a colored resin panel on back and matching color on the fire button. The screen is 1.3” color square shaped screen. It comes preprogrammed with 8 backgrounds including black. At this time you can't upload your own but maybe in the future.
Overall I was very impressed with the X217 and would recommend it without hesitation. I only hope they come up with an update that allows more options in the "breathing" lights and it would be nice to be able to upload your own background. Neither of these are involved in the operation of the X217 though. As is I'm very pleased with this mod and think others will be too.
