I've been noticing the Sony 4's popping up during this drought a little online and in local b&m shops. Has anyone else?

During the drought I saw some advertised online by a local B&M. I don't trust local places to actually have authentics, to be honest.
I also don't feel that the .07 ohm difference between 0.21 and 0.14 is worth it to justify the price differential (at least $50 per ohm, pfft), so I'm happy with my new 25R's.

I use Orbtronic SX30s (which are rebadged vtc4's) and i love them.
I have a couple of the newish xtar VTC4's too, but i haven't stripped the wrap from one of those to make sure. These ones i have my doubts about - they seem to lack the power and the top of them is a bit easier to wreck than the Orbies.
I got them from a reputable supplier after reading that Xtar and Sony had some partnership deal going, so it may just be they are new and need a few more cycles on them to break in.
My VTC5s are flat-tops and get less use just because of the mods i use.
I've not tried the LG's, but i do run all 30A batteries for my gear including Samsungs, MNKEs and the above. I'm not convinced of the merits of trying to save money on batteries or chargers, given the numbers of fake VTC5's and AW's out there.

i just bought 6 VTC4's, 2 from RTD and 4 from lightning vapes...LV coupon for 15% off is LV15......no fakes in the bunch
Just ordered a couple from Lightning vapes. Other have seemed to have good luck I'll post my results when I get them in sometime early next week.

Could be that now that so many ppl are leery of vtc5's that the counterfeiters are now seeing how many vtc4's can be pushed before theey are equally distrusted. lol or it could just be a simple resourface of ppl's stockpiles.
^^^ That. Just make sure you are buying from places that have a good reputation so you know what you are getting.
I've noticed it too. As others have said, you still need to be careful to make sure you're getting real VTC4's if that's what you want.
Defiantly need to know how to spot a fake. LIGHTING VAPES, RTD VAPORS, both have VTC4' s for sale and claiming that they authentic. I have not bought from them, so I don't know.
The two I received from LV are certainly the real deal. Glad I ordered four more.
I did receive three fakes last week but the vendor is aware of the issue and is making good. On a related note, the vendor of the fake VTC5 cells I received a couple of weeks ago also made good. So... no harm, no foul... just a waste of my time.

I work in a b and m and my battery supplier just informed me two days ago that vtc production has resumed but that sony has moved the production plant to the Philippines and that the QC is garbage, this may just be hear say but I trust what this guy says as he has yet to lie to me about anything in the three years he has been my go to guy on all things battery. He did say he can get me brand new batches of both vtc4 and 5 but advised me to go with LG HE2's until further notice. This may just be his opinion but as I have said he has never steered me wrong yet, just wanted to pass that news along, excitement!!! But lets wait to see if they are as good as sony made them at home lol
I've heard several theory's on the Sony's, but who really knows? Ultramist vapor claims they have Sony VTC5's in stock and 4's I've never ordered from them. I was lucky and found a few more 5's at my local B&M, which is basically next to none out of the 7 vape shops in my area.
It would be nice if you could hear it from sony...like that would happen lol
Vapordna has Sony VTC4's in stock right now as well. I knew they were making a comeback!
