If you didn't run it through the dry you might be ok. I would stick it on a meter and if you read above 3ish or 4 you might be ok. Make sure it's completely dry.

I can only imagine the water would have depleted the batteries charge levels to an unsafe level I would chuck it $10 alot less expensive than facial surgery. you would have to test it just to be sure.
Just checked it with a multimeter, 3.6 just like it was before it's bath...gonna throw it on the charger and keep a close eye on it I think.

You are safe chucking it. But you should rethink your carrying method of it in your pocket. Hope you had it in a battery case.
Hmm, so you just cleaned your bats and now gonna chuck them? Don't see how cleaning a sealed cell is going to do any harm, unless they were dent and damaged during spin cycle. Hey, send them my way, will pay for shipping. lol.
fwiw I rarely do this and only for short amounts of time with nothing that could cause a short.

A little late but for future reference, batteries are water resistant until they begin to rust, just remember military lights and firefighters lights take batteries such as lithium ion and can get wet and still safely in harsh environments.
Good to know, there was a bit of rust on the positive contact which is the main reason I tossed it.

You think??? I retired from the Army as an Infantryman and can tell you from experience that I have had batteries rust in many Surefire tac-lights, my brother is a Chicago firefighter and dumps water out of his after crawling into fires, so they may be listed as water tight but they are still subject to water.
Throw it away your mod let alone your hand isn't worth the 10-15$ of your piece of mind.
