Yeah on second thought I tossed it, better safe than sorry!

A little late but for future reference, batteries are water resistant until they begin to rust, just remember military lights and firefighters lights take batteries such as lithium ion and can get wet and still safely in harsh environments.

Good to know, there was a bit of rust on the positive contact which is the main reason I tossed it.

Those battery compartments are water tight.

You think??? I retired from the Army as an Infantryman and can tell you from experience that I have had batteries rust in many Surefire tac-lights, my brother is a Chicago firefighter and dumps water out of his after crawling into fires, so they may be listed as water tight but they are still subject to water.
