I'm looking for a good solution for the VTR battery door that constantly falls open. Has anyone figured out a good fix??? Last night the battery door cost me a battery falling into a cooler at a party.

Battery no longer working? I would have dried it off and popped it back in. Guess a piece of clear tape would work. People have said not to use batteries if the outer coating rips apart. I just Krazy Glue it back in place and carry on. Never had a problem yet and it has been months.

Not worried about the battery, however the door constantly falling open is what I really need to fix.
No it isn't broken, ever since I got it I'll pick it up.off the table, and the battery will just fall out. Yes using a button top with it. It is like the latch is defective some how... Seen a lot of threads on the issue no fixes yet.
On the wife's the button top batteries fit but are really tight, so it could be that. Have you tried it with a flat top to see if the problem is consistent?
I've tried both, the door just sucks.... I have heard nothing from the manufacture since opening the case with them. (Not the best customer support apparently.)
Hubby's VTR has the same issue. He bent the door slightly and it works pretty well. We use flat-top batteries.
