VTR Battery Size

Hi guys,

I don't yet have a VTR, but have 5 other devices and wanted to "upgrade" to the VTR. My friend purchased one, and my 18650 battery of choice doesn't fit - it's too long. I read somewhere that the VTR accepts batteries up to 65mm in length. In reading through a few other posts like this one, I want to purchase the right battery for this device, with the highest capacity, but don't want to buy something that won't fit:

My questions are as follows:

1) Is 65mm truly the size cut off for batteries in the VTR?

2) If I can get my hands on a few NCR18650PF, will those fit properly?

3) Most places appear sold out, but I found a few on eBay. Is there any way to tell if they're legitimate batteries?

I own several batteries, including the Panasonic 3400mah protected button tops, the ICR18650, and the
CGR18650CH. From what I've read of Baditude's posts, those batteries aren't so great. But of the 3, the Panasonic definitely outlasts the other two. So I'm looking for something that fits, and is either an upgrade or equal to what I'm currently using. Is that possible?

My Samsung 18650 Flat top battery is a perfect fit at 65mm, I suspect that anything longer won't work. I am waiting for my new battery to arrive, the Panasonic 3400mAh CGR18650CH, it was supposed to come with the VTR as a package I bought, but they sent the wrong battery. I suspect, since it was bundled with the VTR, there won't be any problems, but can't confirm until I have it in my hands.

Good luck!

I have four of the CGR18650CH batteries, but they're 2250mah. I don't even get a full day out of them. But they definitely fit in my friend's VTR, so if they're the same size as the ones I have, you should be fine.

Anyone had any luck using a buttontop in a VTR?

While waiting on my CGR18650CH to arrive, I threw in my Efest 18650 buttontop. It fits fine but battery life sucks. I'm on yellow after 9 hours of heavy use. My AW 18650 2000mah buttontop fit, but won't fire at all.

My aw 18650 2000mah fit and fire fine just got Panasonic 18650 3400 mah last night charged them and having interment fire issues now. Unsure if it's my vtr or the Panasonic batteries.

If the Panny is a protected battery, it's most likely a battery issue. Regulated mods tend to act funny with protected batteries.
