VV Passthru idea

I was looking for a usb passthru which wouldn't look out of place with my comp so I was thinking would it be possible to use a joystick.

The joystick I had in mind can be found here.

I was thinking of using a 10v 3a adapter instead of a usb wall plug so make it variable voltage, mounting the display on the base and using the pitch knob on the joystick base to adjust the voltage and using one of the base buttons to display the voltage when pressed. On the base of the joystick base there is also a switch that can be used as a power on/off.

Picking up the whole joystick to smoke would be cumbersome so I was thinking would it be possible to use a retractable cable like in vacuum cleaners or dog leashes and using the main trigger as a firing button.

Doable or not?

interesting concept, sounds like it could work,the only problem I can think of is what to use for the retractable cord

this Retractable Dog Leash, on ebay they go for around $4.50 a pop, dunno if it's too big but it can be trimmed down to size as the wheel mechanism is made of plastic and it should be good enough for a 18 gauge cable.

You think it would be good enough to retract the cable when returning the handle part of the joystick to the base?
thought I would need something more beefy because of the thicker wiring
