So I just finished building my VV kit last night, followed the directions well and soldering skills are great.but I noticed a couple things : first off after vaping for a couple times , it doesn't work? It doesn't always happen, mostly when changing the voltage. The on/off switch seems to help, but what is causing this?
Second, is it normal for the circuit board to get really hot after about 5 min of vaping? It gets so hot it melts the glue and can feel it with the case on. I put heat sink compound on it with a heatsink! What is normal? What can I do ?

With my madvapes vv I get 7hrs or so off of 2 14500 batts, as for getting hot mine gets warm but not burning, but mine isn't glued in either the whole board is free floating in the box. I had issues with mine firing and it turned out to be bad connections from the chip to the board, also had voltage that wouldn't adjust no matter where you turned the dial which was also the bad chip connection

Darn! It just stopped working with freshly charged batts, for only 2hrs of vaping, it gets warm, but the batts are low enough to not make my led batt checker work. I was vaping at 4v. Probably some bad connection I have that shorts whenever it gets hot. Lol I even put heat sink on the board with some compound! Switching the on/off button was working but not anymore. Confused.

Lol. Mine just went down too after about 30 min of use yesterday and 5 min today. The batteries are depleted completely. VV wasn't even warm/hot. The voltage was 4.2v with the freshly filled tank. I guess I have to buy another mode with a single battery for back up.

Yea, I think it is because I've been using DCC , my batteries are running out a lot quicker. I checked and the DCC are draining my batts. Also could be that my batts aren't high drain? Idk
I used Boge carto all day with a drip tip and the batteries lasted for 12 hours.
Follow up: The batteries are getting shut down and burning cartos instantly. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to make this VV just a simple 3.7 V with the batteries in parallel conection (for more power)?

Another follow up:
Well, I installed only one battery and connected + to empty slot + with the wire .
There's was a current flow w/o clicking the switch!? The insolation on the connecting wire started to melt. It shouldn't be this way because no close circut. Should it? If so I can understand why the secondary battery is always overheating and getting hot on positive connector side (down to the bottom of the box). It's always in use even w/o a load . With the load it gets "overload" and overheating.

Yes , I have also found this to be true. I just got done resoldering and testing the connections. Thanks it's wild how one batt will go dead and not the other! Did you say that you bypassed the on/off switch? Did it help? Sorry I couldn't understand you last post.

I connected positive contact from the slot with the battery in it to a positive contact on the empty slot w/o pushing the "fire up" button (open electrical circuit) and there was a current strong enought to melt insulation on the connection wire .
The main power on/off switch was on.

Wow! I was messing around with the regulator chip and accidentally fused the first and Second pin, and it fired and kept firing, I had to quickly slice the solder to seperate the connection and stop it from continuously firing! Lol. I'm done messing with it , I have done everything short of replacing the parts and it still keeps overheating and almost melting . Then it dies, even with full batts. I really don't know ? I ordered a provari v2 yesterday(had to order special high drain AW batteries $50) and am using my gold rush mod now.
Plus my black bolt I just ordered stopped working! It's been an unlucky weekend! Thanks for your help

One problem I had with the VV from madvapes is that it kept tripping the protection circuits on my Trustfire batts. Turning the switch off an on would usually fix it. However, I found sometimes it needed a sharp tap on the atomizer too. The final solution was to get some AW IMR batteries that are chemically safe and don't have protection circuits.
