I am new and learning this site. Not sure how it works. Do I post a new thread of just try to reply to one that exists? I am trying to figure out how to determine FAKE or CLONE eGo VV3 sales. I have some that say SLB on the battery and not the box. Some that have QRT-SY on the box but they have the SLB Logo on the battery. ?? Confused. I have paid around 18.95 for mine. They all have worked great but .... I want the right and real thing. Forgive me if I am not posting correctly and pre-thank you for any help!

Wow. Everyone, per my Googling, seems to think that Fasttech sells clones and the 'real' vv3 by SLB. But I am not sure. I am paying about 18 bucks now for the vv3 and some have the SLB Logo and some do not. I can't tell the difference really in them. They both do very well. But it bothers me that I might not be getting the real deal! I don't mind paying 34.95 for a 'real' SLB vv3 because I love em' with my PT Mini. Rebuild my own coils to a an even 2.0 and at 9.5 watts with some good Tiger Blood 80/20 and I am rocking. If anybody can help me out here on the clones verses the real deal, I sure would appreciate it. And thanks for your patience as I learn this forum. If I break any rules, just be kind and let me know :) Thanks!

Wow! NOBODY can help me here? :(
Did you buy the devices from fasttech? If you still have the order details, you could check if the item says "vv3 style" or "authentic". If it says authentic, then it is, but if it says something like: "xxx style" then it's a fake or knockoff. I personally don't mind buying fakes if they work as well as an authentic but I do want to purchase a authentic device if I like it.

Hope this helps even the slightest :)

Hi, Donny, Welcome to ECF!

Sorry, but I also can't really answer your question. ego-style batteries (even the VV ones) are so broadly manufactured it makes it very difficult to tell. Even if you had a real one and a clone in your hands you might not be able to tell the difference. However, the bright side is that not all clones are bad, many are at least as good as the originals. So, if they work well for you, I wouldn't stress about it.

Where did you get them? That might be a better source of info that would help answer your question.

Hi Lova and sorry for the late response. I had kinda' given up. I am buying them from my neighbor. He runs a small shop at the flea market. Yes that helps much more than what I have at this point. I agree totally with the clones. The ones I bought from my neighbor have worked very well and I don't really see the need to buy the 'authentic' vv3 I guess. Just could not help but wonder if SLB and their logo are protected etc. Actually, the only difference I have seen in the vv3's are that the ones that are stamped with the SLB Logo on the bottom start charging immediately upon connection. But the other ones I have to press the on/off button 5 times to cut them off and then back on and then back off (whew- :) to get them to start charging. Not a problem really but kind of annoying. Seems that the SLB stamped vv3's last a few hours longer but other than that, they work great. Thanks for the reply and hope to hear from some more folks. The vv3 is under rated IMHO. :) Blessings!

Hi twgbonehead! Sorry I didn't see your response until just now. Still learning this forum :) I get mine from my neighbor/buddy that runs a vape shop at the flea market. He has been selling clones for years and knows the good, bad and ugly. He only sells the good. But it got me wondering when I saw the SLB Logo on the bottom of some of them and not others. He said he thought they were all clones! LOL. But perhaps a real clone is as good as a real vv3? :D
