VX2 carts - MUCH BETTER WICKING action

While tinkering with my latest mod (LED flashlight VX2 mod, 4.8 volts @ 1800mAH, 4 AAA NiMH cells) I have discovered that the VX2 carts will WICK MUCH BETTER by drilling a tiny hole in the bottom (about 0.015" to 0.020"), opposite the little plastic spacer barb/spike. Drill this hole in a position that is mirrored to the plastic barb. DO NOT drill it near the center of the cart, but about 1mm from the side wall. I never realized I could get so much vapor out of a little VX2 cart. I just might make my 2nd LED flashlight mod with yet another salvaged VX2 female threaded battery connector after all.

Ha! Just yesterday I was looking at my plastic inner filler cart wondering why there weren't any vent holes. My only concern would be getting a bunch of juice in your mouth but I've got plenty of extras. I'll give it a whirl!

I couldn't find my pilot bit so I ended up using a tiny picture frame nail and hammer which worked quite well. Two little taps and I had my holes ( I decided to try one on each side). I'm using my pyramid teabag mod filler on a passthrough and I must admit it is kicking a little harder than normal. I would say around a 10 percent vapor increase. Not too shabby! Thanks Doc!

Depending upon what you are using for cart stuffing, you may need to increase or decrease the size of the hole. If the hole is too big, you WILL have juice leakage at the atty/connector joint. Also keep in mind that you must avoid overfilling the cart....even when just topping it off. This will also make it leak. This whole effect of drilling a hole is enhanced when running a mod with increased voltage. With stock voltage (3.7 Volts) the vapor increase is not nearly as noticeable.

I think the hole you made with the nail will leak. The hole is probably too big.
