Waiting for my first intellicig today, I'm rather excited!

I'm a fairly infrequent secret-smoker, but I'm fed up of having to go through a full-on decontamination proceedure to get rid of the smell of my occasional menthol indulgences (particularly as a student, I find that it certainly helps my concentration when writing).

So I took the plunge and, having read many threads on this site, ordered a black evo from intellicig (a local company) yesterday and I'm currently waiting for the delivery. I'm really rather excited, particularly as I'd like to show it off at a couple of parties this weekend!

I'll let you know my first impressions when it comes. I really like the feel of this community, and I'm looking forward to kicking the stink-sticks for good!

It should arrive in the next half hour or so, and as understand it the Evo battery is good to go straight out of the box, so I'll be sure to give my first thoughts pretty soon.

I had a menthol analogue about an hour ago and the taste still lingers, hopefully that won't mess up the taste of the evo....

It's arrived!

The black evo looks very nice indeed, plus I really like the blue led. However, the battery has obviously lost some charge on the way so I've had to pop it into the USB port for a while to top it up.

While it was working, the vapour coming odd it was rather weak / non-existent. Also, the initial taste (which I assume is the primer on the atty.... or something) is really rather rough, hopefully that will disappear soon enough.

As such, I imagine it just need breaking-in properly until it's functioning at full whack, at which point I'll report back. I hope it's that and not a return job!

Hi Charlie, I'm not sure if it's the same with the Evo but most models come with a blank mouthpiece attached & you need to pop on a new cartridge (mouthpiece). Just wondering if that's the reason why you aren't getting hardly any vapour from it.

I made sure to pop on a new cartridge when I first got it, but when I look down into it the wadding seems deep.

I was perhaps thinking that I might need to push the wadding a bit further up so it touches the atomiser, using a pin through the mouthpiece hole, but I wasn't sure if that's the right thing to do.

On the primer - remove atty - blow it out from the threaded end into a paper towel, then just puff at first until it subsides. I have a M400 and the vapor isn't like the 510 of course, but if you take slow drags like you're drinking a thick shake through a straw you'll do better.

After cleaning the atty there was not change, so I thought it might be the cartridge. Popped in a new one and in a couple of drags it was flying!

Slow "think shake" drags seem to do the trick. There's a surprising amount of vapour being produced (which I like), not quite feeling the menthol yet, but I'm definitely feeling the nicely mellow hit (I ordered it with medium menthol carts). I can get quite a cloud going, but the odd thing is that it doesn't really have a lingering smell, which is exactly the effect I was after.

So first impressions would be that I'm rather impressed! I can definitely see myself investing in some fancy flavours, just a shame that there aren't any local stores I can just pop in and visit!
