Waiting on invoice for 2 grands as birthday gifts for my friends, took 3 months of swagbucks to be able to manage this, but my friends deserve the best, yes you all convinced me reos are the best :)

I also ordered a 510/510 adaptor, mini cartomizers & one reomizer2 (they will have to share).
I have 510 & 901 atties (+ adaptors), ultrafire batteries & chargers I can give them too.

I have a question about the batteries, as long as I build the rm2 to ~1.7/2.0 ohms will these batteries be safe for short term use. I didn't calculate batteries into what I would have to spend, which is probably a good thing or I might never have gone this path, but now I'm starting to get worried. But then again my brain tells me AW batteries weren't available when the reo was first built & trustfire/ultrafire used to be the recommended batteries for mods.

Ginger, as long as they're the right size (18650), they'll work. But they just don't work as well. You might tell them that with the birthday money they're going to get from other people, the first thing they need to do is buy their own AW IMR batteries, then send them to RTD vapor. (Don't forget the 5% discount code: ECF5.)

What awesome birthday gifts....what a great friend you are.

You are correct in that we all used the protected, non IMRs, at first. Plenty of REOs were vaped for many months using the protected only. Back then we had to settle on 1.5 to 2.0 ohm attys so we weren't really stressing the batteries like we do with the lower resistance coils so popular now days.

And for you peeps looking at this who have 14500 REOs stay above the 1.1 ohm range for any battery you use for safety sake.

Be really careful using the adapters. Unless they come from REO they have the potential to short and collapse a spring. But there shouldn't be any need for an adapter other than 510 to 901.

What a great friend you are. Cheers.

You are giving the best, that's for sure Ginger!

They will be set for great vaping!

I agree with Jan, they do need AW IMR batteries soon. The REO's just do not perform well with those other batteries. Especially with the RM2, they will notice a huge difference with the right batteries.
