I'm so impatient! Ordered over the weekend, shipped Monday afternoon... now I have to go to a 3-hour class and I'm worried I'll miss the UPS guys. :( I'm not quite a pack a day smoker, usually a pack lasts me about 2.5/3 days... unless I'm drinking or stressed/depressed. But I haven't bought any since I ran out over the weekend and it's starting to show! And I definitely don't want to buy any now because they'll taste nasty again. Rawr.

Who else owns a penstyle round these parts? I love the refined look, I saw that there were these longer cigs and I was sold. How's the performance?

Presuming I enjoy vaping, I think my next buy will be the 510 package from cignot, presuming they still have them available. :x

Can't wait to be a vaper!

I have both the 510 and the 801 some flavors taste so much better on the 801. esspecially the RY4 from heaven-gifts.com I dont however get as much vapor on exhale as I do with my 510 but I figre that is because the 801 funs cooler than the 510. I use the 510 for flavors that have strong flavors like cappicino and so far I only have been running the ry4 in my 801 cause i fell in love with the flavor in that versus the same liquid in the 510. the bat on the 801 lasts pretty much all day where as the 510 I may go through 3 a day.

It's here, it's here! :D Charging the first battery now! Thanks for your takes on the 810.

Just so you know, you only have to wait until the light turns green on the charger:

Charging lithium-ion batteries
"Lithium-ion is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge. Stickers instructing to charge the battery for 8 hours or more for the first time may be a leftover from the nickel battery days. "

quick question --- I saw something on here about cats and juice? Should I make sure not to smoke this at all in the apt? Or just not blow the vapor on my cat?

VG is safe for cats. PG is not. (and nicotine isn't either, of course - fatal in smaller doses for kids and animals, than for adults.)

You wouldn't want to let them get a hold of a bottle of juice. But they can be in the area and while I wouldn't blow in their face, my cat actually puts his head into the vapor - I chase him away from it, but I'm pretty much a VG guy these days.

Ahhh, thanks Kent!

I maybe did that anyway. ;)

So it tastes pretty bad and kinda funny. I presume this is breaking it in? Anything I should do to adjust it?

Yes. That's the primer/shipping fluid in the atomizer and while it isn't harmful it can be nasty tasting. Take the ecig apart and take the atomizer and blow really hard from the battery end - where the threads are, into a paper towel at the cart end. Keep blowing until you get no more fluid and with the 801, because the atty chamber is larger, you might want to take a qtip and clean the inside being very careful not to contact the atomizer 'bridge' - the metal mesh protusion you can see when you look into the cart end of the atty.

NOW, try vaping again. There will still be some of that taste lingering but it should be less. I don't recommend new vapors to do anything more than that and just vape (puff/not inhale) if you are still getting that nastiness until it goes away - maybe one cart worth.

If you search 'primer' you'll see other 'fixes' for this including using all types of fluids etc. but we've had people burn up attys on the first day, so my advice is to just blow out as much as you can, and vape through it. It will eventually go away. If you're going to do anything - drop a few drops of juice on to the atty bridge and metal mesh area and then blow it out again.

The other source of a bad taste is when you're out of juice and are vaping 'air' only. Don't do this for too long - attys need to be wet.

Hope this helps....

My DSE801 was my first and it's still my favorite. With a low bridge 4-hole atty it produces clouds of vapor and I like that! My original attys are still in good working condition after 6 weeks of heavy use. I never let them get overly hot or dry. My 801 made it possible for me to quit analogs in less than a week. I smoked for many decades, 2 packs/day. I'll be forever grateful for this wonderful technology.

The KR808 gives a good TH and I like the fact that the cartoz last almost all day for me. It's my driving/going out PV and I don't need a shoulder harness... hahaha :D
