I don't know if this has been mentioned. The first three pages of my search didn't reveal anything. But I was in the Walmart gas station last week and saw they were selling a little e-cig kit and 5 packs of cartomizers (tobacco and menthol). They appear to be 510 compatible cartos, though I can't confirm that. I didn't buy any. But I did ask the price of the kit and the girl said it was $22. I didn't get the price of the cartos, I had a line behind me and didn't want to keep people waiting.

No idea if they are selling them in Walmart proper or just their gas stations right now. I just remember thinking that if I ever came into a situation where I needed some cartos I could probably grab some of those for my eGo.

That's very cool. I'll have to check that out. if Wal-mart starts to sell em cheap then that may force some of the overpriced mall vendors to lower the prices.

I had a guy who quite smoking recently say I was smoking a "fake" cigarette. I laughed and asked him how can it be fake if I'm still getting the nicotine. He didn't answer but said it only takes 72 hours for the nicotine to get out of your system ( even though he smoked for 40 years) He wished me good luck with quitting even after I already told him I had quit smoking already, just use the e-cig to get my fix.. it's like he didn't get the concept.

That's why I do kinda hope Wal-mart carries them. It may help educate more folks about them.

Great news! Were they hanging on a peg in a package that you could see a battery, 2 cartos and a low-profile USB charger? There's something called GreenSmartLiving that's been popping up all over, but they haven't hit MN yet that I've found. I've read prices for the kits anywhere from $12 to $25 each, and the cartos packs $6 to $15, so they must be reasonable as a resell.

I hope whatever Walmart has is a decent product, I need some vaping company :)

How do you figure it can be a bad thing?

Over-exposure can quickly lead to unwarranted bans and other negative effects for e-cigs. For right now Im perfectly happy only telling people who smoke and ask me directly about e-cigs. Im not interested in people who have never smoked trying to decide if e-cigs are good or bad. They have no reference point and will lump them with analogs...

Exactly. That's why we need to educate the public about the truth of e-cigs. The more the general population knows what We know, the more they won't let the politicians screw the public over with silly bans. That's why we need to educate them very fast so we can get more people to know the truth and fight with us before the silly bans go into effect.

We must give them that reference point IMO.

I understand both sides of the argument. If you think the general public can stop politicians from screwing us over, I admire your optimism. It would be nice to run over to Walmart to grab a few MLs of juice though... lol

I hate to say it but I don't want to see wal-mart sell them. They have the money to buy in large quantities so they can outsell any small vendor in the nation. Grant it, I would still by from the small vendor unless I had to have something quick. This is just another way for big companies to take control and I don't, personally, want to see that happen.

The general public is already being miseducated. We're not flying under the radar at this point as evidenced by the bans that are proposed or have already been passed. Telling the "other" side of the story will either help or have little effect either way.

I agree 100%. We all benefit enormously from the collective ingenuity, passion and imagination of our small mom-and-pop juice and ecig vendors who have devoted their skills and talents to furthering a cause they believe in. Those businesses have very narrow profit margins, if any. Once the Walmarts of the world start getting involved, they will not be able to compete, and quality and innovation will slowly grind to a halt. Independent businesses are in real trouble in this country, folks, and the loss of them hurts us all. Fight back.

They will never carry the variety that is available online. As fiddly as a lot of stuff is, they will only be able to put their standard return policy on those basic "Njoy" style kits. I too like the idea of being able to run to the store in an emergency, but I, for one, really like buying from people I have a personal relationship with. I do think that it will help get people into vaping. I have, many times, bought something from Walmart and seen the potential of it. Then gone online to do more research. At the very least we know that Target won't carry them, since they don't carry ciggys either.

If I had to predict . . .

I can't see Wal-Mart selling battery-atomizer-cartridge models in-store. There's a slight learning curve that the battery-carto models don't have, and W-M caters to 'easy' as much as possible.

I can't see them selling juices. A pack of cartos would be no different to them than a pack of cigs and wouldn't carry the potential liability issues. Their return policy would probably be the same as it is for cigs -- you're buying as is-where is and no refunds.

I don't see them driving any small guys out of business. They'd be creating a huge new customer base, so the tiny fraction who'd quit buying by mail would be replaced by a large percentage who'd start because they saw it in WallyWorld and then want something a bit better. Any site who's savvy enough to do keyword links to all the words/terms/names on W-M's items would see a hugh increase in hits/sales as people go searching for something a bit classier.
