A newbie I obviously am (also a fan of Yoda). Last week I received my first (cheap) e-cig kit and it was a major disappointment. One of the batteries didn't work, the battery that did work didn't last long, the strongest carts (16mg) didn't do it for me, and so on and so on. This week I'll be sending it back for a refund and now I'm looking into what to get for Round 2. The lone positive of that experience was that I learned that I can put down the Marlboros and that e-cigs WILL work for me. That's good.

Anyways. Here's the good stuff:
- Been smoking Marlboro Reds for 16 years (about 25 a day), so I'll need something that brings the pain.
- Don't really wanna lug around something that resembles a tiny baseball bat or a walkie talkie.
- On the go a lot, so I'd need something that can last all day. I don't mind carrying extra equipment around in my backpack, tho. Saw a video that featured a PCC. Seemed nifty to me. I plan on hitting this thing a whole helluva lot.
- Money isn't really an issue, as I pay $12 a pack for Marlboros here in NYC (tragic, I know).
- I value a solid throat hit over vapor, but I'd like the best of both worlds.
- Don't want something that looks like a cigarette (white battery, tan filter).
- Would want something sleek.
- The less parts, the better.
- Would have to easily fit in the front pocket of my pants/shorts/jacket/etc.
- People would have to quickly come to the conclusion that I look cool smoking it :2cool:
- Would wanna have the ability to refill the cartos and such myself.
- Great customer service from company.

I think that's about all I can think of at the moment. It's not my intention to come off as lazy or anything, but there's just way too much information out there. My brain is overloaded right now and I must step away from this research project for a bit.

I'm a newbie myself but for your requirements I think the eGo would be a good fit. While it is sort of baseball bat like it has good battery life without being giant and if you go with the tank system or the mega atomizer or cartomizer you will get decent life on the liquid. I've been vaping almost constantly and the two eGo batteries tend to last me all day. I don't know about the mega atomizer/cartomizer but I found the standard 510 carts leaked enough that I wouldn't want to carry in my pocket. The tanks haven't had this issue for me.

As for liquid, I have tried a couple of juices in the 36 mg/ml range and they gave a serious throat hit. Too much for me really but reminded me of when I smoked reds.

I won't recommend a supplier as other people have far more experience with that than I do.

Welcome to ECF.

Yeah an eGo or eGo knock off sounds about right. You can also go with the tank system (eGo-T) instead of messing with cartridges or cartomizers. Fill the tank, fill a couple spares, bring the extra battery and you're good for the day I'd bet. You can get an eGo-T from cignot.com for $79: https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-egt-all.htm

If you want to stick with carts and want to try an eGo knock off (cheaper) you can get a Riva 510 Lite kit from Liberty Flights for $29.99 (using their 20% link in the upper left of their page). You can later add eGo-T atomizers and tanks to it. Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Both are great companies to deal with.

As for juice, it's all so subjective that you're best off getting samples from various places in different mg strengths to see what you like best.

I smoked Marlboro reds for almost 20 years then to Marlboro lts for almost 15 years had Asthma my whole life so I was never more than an arms reach from an inhaler until Oct of last year got my first PV also a disappointment but then I found this site after a lot of reading I ordered an E-go loved it, used USA mix juice low nic around 8mg then tried higher nic around 24mg much better (same flavor ) . I ordered another PV the Riva same thing as an E-go ( lesson learned ) then tried other flavors of juice now have a bunch of al flavors love almost all but hardly ever pull out my USA mix Food tastes better and Asthma has all but went away not used my inhaler since Thanksgiving. hav'nt had a reg cig in over 90 days not even when having drinks I do keep my PV's within reach now.
Aftr reading everything you said I think you would be really happy with an E-go, Riva, Inferno or any of the other names that type is called but you like me, probabally would prefer a LR Atty I use a 1.5ohm 510 I do use the drip mthod but have already orderd the tank system for the E-go just waiting for the mail.
Hope this helps feel free to ask plenty of questions everyone I've found likes to talk about their Vaping I guess I do to now !!! LOL

Thanks for all the quick replies, folks. I'll be researching each and every recommendation I get here. Delving into the world of e-cigs is a pretty humbling experience. I'll see to it that each and every one of you gets nominated into sainthood for yall efforts.

Whichever you decide on checkout the suppliers page for sales E Cigarette Suppliers Forum

I second Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. Vicki at cignot is hands down the best place to go for beginners or veterans.....the extra few dollars equals pennies when you consider the customer service she supplies with EVERY order, whether it be 70.00 or a 5.00 sample.

And the speed at which she ships is mind blowing...

MaxX Fusion system available from BloogPlanet is really sounding like a terrific system that I think will cover all your requirements. I have not ever used them but have watched and read really great reviews for the kit. Do a search on this forum and I think you will be impressed. I only used 6 volt mods so I think it may be slightly underpowered for me, but even I am thinking a lot about buying it.

I'm not sure what you're calling a "miniature baseball bat" but this is my suggestion. The eGo-T starter kit that comes with 2 batteries. I am a female, and I don't find them too big. I really love my eGos. The tank system is relatively new and will give you more hours without filling cartridges with no "filler taste" that's common with smaller cartos. Definitely portable. Each charged battery will last you for hours. You WILL have to buy juice to go in the cartos. Freedom Smoke USA has excellent juices at good prices. They have quite a few tobacco juices that are really good (although you'll never duplicate the taste of burning leaves and paper. To start, I would suggest Pure Cig at 24mg to start. I just saw the requirement that you be able to put this in a pants pocket. It will fit, I just don't know how tight that you wear your pants to know if it would press the manual button. This is one of my favorite vendors and what they have right now. FreedomSmokeUSA I know that they make a PCC for the eGo, but I don't know that FSUSA carries those now. A 6 month guarantee is pretty good. I bought my eGo from a different company and am having problems with it now. They only had a 14 day return policy. The customer service at FSUSA is excellent. The shipping is reasonable, and the speed (usually) is outstanding! If you order it today, you would probably get it by Wednesday. You can order extra batteries and tanks from them in a variety of colors. They don't just have tobacco juices, they have other wonderful flavors if you want to get "fancy". If you decide to order for them, use the "coupon code" freedomsmokeusa for 10% off of your order. They also have frequent sales for stocking up on supplies. (and they have "sampler" sizes of juices to see if you like something first.) You'll need at least 30ml of juice to get started good. I'd suggest getting a variety of tobaccos and fruits in a small size.

Go to cignot.com, and get you 2-3 manual mega 510 batteries, 2-5 510 attomisers, 1 wall charger for 510, 1 mega 510 PCC, 1 usb car adaptor, 10 blank cartridges, and 2-3 bottles of 24 mg liquid. That will set you up well to start. Black, titanium, and stainless steel are the guy colors.
No need for ego's, ego T's and all that mess starting out. If what I suggested doesnt work.......it will.

From the requirements you've given I'd go with the eGo or some variation thereof. Riva, eGo, XL eGo, Mega eGo, eGo tank, it all depends on what you think will work for you. The standard Riva or eGo battery will give you around 6 to 8 hours of vaping if you're average. The XL or Mega will go 10 or more. Couple that with cartomizers or a t-tank and you'll have less filling to do. That's my 2 pennies.

I love my "baseball bat" Buzz :) but I use Ego's for steath vaping at work.

My basic set-ups are titanium with the cone over a cartomiser, and a black one with the larger Ego cartomiser. The larger Ego cartomiser lasts for a 8-9 hour day with no refills. The regular cartomiser lasts about 6 hours. (of course I'm not constantly vaping). I try to remember to charge them every other day, and I've never had a battery die on me at work.

You can find a one battery set up for $29.99 at a lot of vendors, two battery sets for roughly $50. (Don't forget to check the Coupon code list before placing any order!)
My titanium one is the one I take when we go out - because it looks sleek and cool. :2cool: I get questions about it all the time, so I take the pretty one... :thumb:

I suggest sticking to the Ego (Riva, Hello, etc. - all basically the same) set up to start, then jump back in and read up on all the extra goodies. Mega, Tanks, etc etc etc.
Good luck, and ask questions here! We all love to talk about this stuff

I love the Bloog Maxx Fusion! I got the Ultimate starter kit with silver batteries. Very sharp looking! Works great!!! And the Ultimate starter kit comes with the PCC that you want. They have prefilled cartos, each one is supposed to be the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes. They can be refilled, or you can just buy a bunch of them and toss each one when it's done, if you like.

Thanks again, everybody.

Started off researching the Bloog MaxxFusion and I was really liking what I read/saw. Whichever starter kit it was that included the two long batteries and that Tron-looking PCC seemed like it'd be able to get my through the day when I'm out and about. Too bad they didn't have all the stuff I wanted in stock, tho. :(

Now it's off to read up on the eGo-T and the suggestions that Big Chief gave.
