Hi, im looking at getting into ecigs to help me cut down/quit smoking and im just after some info on building a decent starter kit that I hopefully wont need to upgrade in the near future.

I've been looking at the Kanger Protank 2 and Vision eGo Spinner (1300mAh). Is this good combo or is there better out there for around the same outlay?

Also need help finding a supplier for unflavoured nicotine liquid. Apparently you cant sell nicotine liquid in Australia but you can import it for personal use (what a pain in the ...) so does anyone know of any reliable/verified suppliers that are willing ship to Australia?

And lastly im interested to know how much ejuice people use on average when they used to smoke 25-30 ciggies a day?

Thanks

ok... lots to do...

a great starter set up in my opinion would be an ego v v3 mega, check the reviews, i have the v v2 mega, and i loved it till i upgraded to the itaste svd, but the v v3 offers many of the features most mods out there have...

the ego v v3 mega allows you to use variable voltage, variable wattage (this allows you to custom tailor the vape to your preferences) it has an ohms checker, and it is a passthrough this means that you can plug your usb cord into the device to charge it and still use it while it charges...

with the ohms checker you could rebuild your coils if you decided too... if you were interested in that... the kanger protank 2 is good but may look funny on a smaller device, the mini protank 2 looks better but doesnt hold much...

as far as your liquid crisis... in your shoes i would suggest to diy your own liquid... of course this is assuming that you are serious about it as diy is a bit of an investment initially... but you could get the unflavored nic, and flavors to add to it, which would technically not be a breach of the law... maybe...

so theres my ideas... for ya

Your starter set sounds fine, you would want to get a spare battery or two depending on how long you might need to wait on shipping (if something breaks)

I smoked about the same as you and usually use 3-4 mL per day, a 18-24mg strength should be a good start.

Regarding suppliers, your best bet is reading through here...Australia - New Zealand Forum..and after you have 5 posts you can post questions there.

It's a great combo, but I would recommend having two batteries and two tanks. Backups are crucial: You don't want to be caught without if a battery suddenly dies, or if a bit gets lost or broken. Look for something like this (except closer to home!). :thumb:

I think Stosh is right on regarding the quantity: figure about 3-5ml per day.

Nic strength is a little trickier. Most people seem to start somewhere between 12mg and 24mg. If you're not sure what you'll need but you're only ordering one strength, I'd recommend getting 24mg juice and then diluting with 0mg VG as needed. (Food grade unflavored VG is available cheap at many pharmacies over here, as well as Amazon, and I would imagine that the same is true over there. You can add flavoring if desired.)

Thanks for the replies,
Lack of sleep made me buy the Protank 2 and a 900mAh ego battery to get me started and use as a spare after I get a better main battery like the ego-v variable v3 mega that wickeddeuce suggested, I found the v2 version for fairly cheap locally so might just grab that instead of trying to find the v3 version. probably not all that much difference between them anyway I guess.

Found a supplier for unflavoured nicotine liquid and will just be using a 50/50 mix of nicotine liquid and flavour liquid.

Seems the general consensus is that average anywhere between 2.5-5ml per day. After a few quick calculations, it looks like it will cost me about 1/4 of what normal smokes would cost me per year, $4500 per year saving, I like the sounds of that. I'm just hoping that this will work for me and I can stick to it.

Indeed, backups are essential to success. Since for many it's not a question of going to the corner store...

You may find that the 900 doesn't get you through a day, and a second battery to use while charging is essential. Get a second topper - another PT2 or something that uses the same heads, and some spare heads.

It CAN work for you, it has for many of us here :) And making sure you don't get sabotaged with a hardware failure is one helpful step.

If you estimate 3 - 5 ml per day, that should be adequate for estimating how much ahead of time to order more. Strength is hard to say. My first week vaping was at 18, and it wasn't doing it for me. Upped to 24, and haven't had a smoke since. A few months later I stepped back down to 18, and am happy there. YMMV, we're all different.

(And a shout-out to Wicked, a fellow WA vaper! Just up the hill from you folk, hear the activity often, and it's music to my ears. Thanks, gang!)
