So for the last year I've been complaining about the price of cigarettes. Not only did the federal government tag on $1 in tax, then our state government did the same. Within a month it was double the cost to smoke. But what was I gonna do? I was addicted, and saw no way out. So I paid up, for a year. Don't get me wrong, I knew it was wrong for me to smoke, indoors no less, around my children. But I did it anyway, on the "my parents did it too" justification.

But then last month, I got notification that as a smoker I would suddenly be paying $30 additional premium on health insurance. WHAT??? Do they charge diabetics an extra premium? Or any other type of person that would be on regular expensive medical treatments? How bout an extra $50 for cancer patients, surely they are costing the insurance companies some bucks! Anyway, I was infuriated that within one year not only were they doubling the cost of my ciggys, now they were putting a sin tax on my insurance.

So I made the decision to FORCE myself to smoke e-cigarettes instead. The decision was made purely out of the spite that I had noticed they were the only exception I could see that wouldn't necessitate medication with the potential to have me thinking postal thoughts, nasty gum, or patches I feared I would be pinching or slapping on for further nicotine absorption. (LOL)

To my surprise, it was the easiest transformation EVER! Within a week I was off the analogs, and I was not suffering one bit! These things are a miracle!! I can't believe I didn't find them sooner. Now...I'm like a new religious convert. I'm gonna change the world, get every smoker I know on e-cigarettes. I started with my mother, who now hasn't smoked a cigarette in two weeks. Next was my father, who is three days into enjoying his kit. Now I've passed my initial kit on to a co-worker - she hasn't quit yet, but she's looking forward to ordering a better kit so that she can.

This is wonderful - I smell better, I feel better, and life is improving day by day. All because I "had" to "force" myself to try an e-cigarette.

I was a lifelong smoker from the age of 16. I am 34 now.I used to smoke flavored cigars and menthol cigarettes, and thought I really enjoyed them. However, I did not enjoy the smell and waking up feeling like I could not breathe. I have kids and although I never smoked around them, I always felt bad when I would come home smelling like an ashtray every day.

I had tried some kind of overpriced under powered e cig before, and thought it was a joke! Unimpressed, I immediately went back to smoking. I never knew there were better models out there.

Well, about 5 months ago I made a few new friends. One of them smoked e cigs, but unlike any other e cig I was accustomed to seeing. He was dripping on an Ego and let me try it. And try it again. I was almost immediately hooked! I really enjoyed the thick vapor and throat hit I was getting. It was nothing like my experience I had with the other model I tried!

Being the generous guy he is. He hooked me up with an Ego, just enough to get my feet wet. I loved it. I started reading more about what was out there. I Found ECF. So much information!

Little did I know....

Holy cow we have an ecig store in Toledo! I was really pumped! Jumped in my car and checked it out. Brought all my smoking friends there one by one. Guess what? We are all ex smokers now! What a nice place to chill out and vape! We are really fortunate to have a nice store like this that sells good equipment in our area.

Fast forward ... Vgo, Talon, Gemini parts and accessories everywhere! I love this stuff! Vaping is actually fun! So many different eliquid flavors to try! It never gets boring like smoking does. Best part is, all my friends have quit smoking too! It has become one our favorite hobbies to hang out, talk about and enjoy together. We all frequent the Revolver store and get our gear there. Thanks Revolver!

I am a diabetic with high blood pressure, I was getting into bad shape. My doctor kept telling me to quit smoking, but I never lasted more than 30 days. A friend started using an e-cig and he was able to stop the analogs within a few weeks. Then one day while shopping for tobacco and tubes (RYO) I noticed e-cigs in his display, so I bought one. I finished the analogs that I had rolled, and have not had but 1 since (just 47 days, but my personnel best).

I wanted to quit since I lost my mom to cancer over 5 years ago. I tried different things, but it didn't work. I turned into the queen, meanie, #$%#$!!! A friend of my husband is a vaper and made some suggestions. I bought a kit and have been analog free since Aug 2 of this year!!! I feel so much better and my kids say I haven't turned into the meanie mommy!!!

I'm 35 years old, and I started smoking at age 16. I was a pack a day smoker for most of those years. I have numerous reasons for wanting to quit, but it took the stupidest thing to actually make me switch to vaping. My maternal grandparents both died from lung cancer, and my grandfather had multiple heart attacks as well. That added a mark to my "reasons to quit" list. I have two beautiful and healthy children who don't want to see me sick... another mark to the list. I was diagnosed with cancer last year, surgery took care of everything and I didn't need chemo or radiation... another mark to the list. Costs of smoking keep increasing... yet another mark to that list.

There are almost infinite reasons to quit smoking here. My 'kick in the rear' though? I was staying a couple weeks at my boyfriend's parents' house, and there are no indoor smokers there. When I was unpacking, my clothing smelled so horrible. I realized at that point that that stink is what I smell like. ewwww. I seem so shallow. I mean, I knew I should stop smoking, because it was the healthy thing to do. But it took stink to make it happen.

I started vaping a few days before Thanksgiving 2011. I had a handful of packs of analogs left, and my frugal (cheap) self didn't want to "waste" them  So I weaned myself down to under half a pack a day, and just a few days ago I had my very last (hopefully my last ever) disgusting stick of doom.

Thanks for asking about our stories.

I have been helping a single father raise his son for the past 4 years. His mother hasn't been a part of his life since he was an infant. I'm with this lil guy all day, 6 days a week. Anyway, this lil man yelled at me one day, "why do u smoke, why do u wanna die, don't u love me?". At that moment I figured I better start caring about myself as much as he cares about me.

I got tired of all the bad feelings that came with smoking. I tried all kinds of ways to stop none worked...the hypnosis tape was great for my insomnia though. A friend brought over one of those gas station kind and while it wasn't great it let me know that a better one of those could work for me. I found ecf and researched for a couple of weeks. I talked my mom into trying this with me. I bought a ton of diy liquid, some flavorings and a kit. We haven't had an analog since our stuff arrived. I am not addicted to the stinkies anymore but think I am addicted to the pv stuff. Don't want a cell phone but gotta have the cool pv stuff. lol

Edit: oh my mom smoked for 30 yrs and I smoked for 24

I'm 70 years old I have had copd for 10 years with occurances of bronchitis every 2-3 months I was tired of not being able to breath and not being able to quit smoking. My daughter researched e-cigarettes for about a month, talked with me and encouraged me to try them. She bought my first kit and taught me how to use it. I did my first vape on 11/14/11 and have not touched an analog since and have no desire for one. Even the smell of smoke is yucky to me. I am enjoying my new found healthier me. My Dr. will be very surprised at my next visit and I am looking forward to his reaction. Because I can now breath without wheezing or coughing and I couldn't do that before e-cigarettes.

I started smoking back when I was about 15 , wasnt ever really a heavy smoker, last winter a buddy of mine started singing the praises of how much he loved his ecig and that I should really give it a try cus he thought Id dig it, at the time, I was a consistent half a pack a day smoker ( usually between 5 - 7 smokes unless I was out drinking / playing pool ) and on the fence on whether or not I wanted to quit, I would go from one or 2 smokes a day to 10, or getting tired of the whole smoking thing and getting rid of my cigarettes then bumming smokes from coworkers or friends, that combined with having to bundle up to go outside to smoke ( we have kids and an ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING rule inside ) it was just becoming exhausting....

So one winter weekend I was down at the bar having a beer enjoying a game of pool, the bartender had one of those 10.00 disposables and being as how I only had one cigarette left in my pack and really didnt want to bundle up to go outside to not even enjoy my cigarette because I would be freezing, I gave the ecig a try, and it satisfied my craving and I was impressed, so impressed I purchased a disposable and used it the entire weekend , I went through 2 disposable smokes and a couple more analogs I ordered up my first 510 kit...

I vaped full on from February until the end of July when some life stuff happened and the slim batteries were starting to just be irritating ... I went back to smoking , but even when I was smoking I really missed vaping and didnt really like myself smoking so I was able to order a new rig ( EGO ) over the holidays, and have been vaping ever since, in fact it seems like I have been at it longer but its only really been about 6 weeks completely off analogs.

I quit smoking analogs because I was tired of the lung butter in the mornings. I've also had several aunt and uncles pass away due to cancer and that kind of got me scared thinking about the risk I take by increasing my chances.
It's not just the fear that brought me to vaping. It's also the hassle of smoking analogs. The smell is awful, the lack of energy is awful, and having to go outside when it's freezing every 30 minutes to an hour is awful. The cost is also a huge issue with smoking analogs. You have to pay 6 dollars a pack for the good ones, and that's for a very limited amount of flavors! With my PV I can decide "No, I don't feel like coffee flavor at the moment. I'll just plug in my Vanilla flavored cart instead!" The flavors, the better health, the cost, and the lack of horrible smell was enough to convince me, and I never want to go back. :)
