Hi,

I've bought a Janty Dura C and am thinking of buying another e-cig. And I'm thinking if I buy the same kind again, then there's the advantage of interchangeability of parts, but I'm also wondering if there's an advantage of buying a different kind. Or... if I get a different kind, is there one that has the same atomizer as the Dura C where it would be interchangeable? Since the atomizer seems to be a part that has a higher probability of problems.

For example I saw that the Janty Stick now can accept one of the other atomizers that some people have been waiting for that to happen and don't understand completely what that mean or why that's important. Is it that the atomizers in the Janty Dura C is interchangeable with the Janty Stick?

In the dark here, (and I haven't received my Dura C yet) but any thoughts would be appreciated.

My best advice is to wait until your Dura-C arrives and play with it a bit before you worry too much about whether to stock up on parts for the Dura-C or whether to add a completely different model into the mix.

By using one model for awhile, it gives you some sort of baseline--an opportunity to decide what you like and what you don't like in an e-cig, and it will also help you prioritize what qualities you need versus what you would like but could live without.

For example, I LOVE my Dura-C. Truthfully, it's an awesome e-cig. For me, however, I find the battery life is too short for it to be my only device. Oh, I can use a USB passthrough battery and rotate a fair number of batteries to compensate, but it's still a bit of a pain.

Also, while I love the harsh vape the Dura-C provides, I find that sometimes the atomizer gets so hot that it almost sacrifices flavor. Thus, I enjoy switching between my Dura-C and my Screwdriver (and now I've added my JantyStick into the mix).

All e-cigs do not provide the same experience. I can vape the exact same liquid in a penstyle, a 901, and a 510 (Dura), and it will taste/feel different in each. That is one reason why the mods with adapters are so popular. For example, with the JantyStick, I can use a penstyle atomizer (801)--I can also purchase a 901 adapter and use my 901 atomizers in the JantyStick--and in a few weeks, I'll be able to purchase a 510 adapter and be able to use my 510 atomizers in the Stick. I understand it's the same for the Prodigy.

"Clear as mud?"

No JJ, that helps a lot at this point. Good to know that the same juice/same amount will give different results according to the e-cig.

And Ok, I was considering as a second either another Dura C or the Janty Stick or the Screwdriver and I see the 510 will be available for the Janty Stick soon. So that would answer one question - I wasn't sure which atomizer was in the Dura C.

Are the batteries for the Dura C proprietary? And if so, do you know if they are available through 3rd party sellers, or only through Janty?

Thanks for the clarification on pass through. Sounds like I might need one too :) I'll have to check the order to see if it's included. I'm guessing no.

Also, it seems I read somewhere, where someone "really liked the Janty Cappuccino" - I tried to backtrack to find that but I've read so much in the last few days, I lost track, but.... I didn't see that flavor at Janty. I see a coffee and I did order that one but are you (or anyone else) aware of the Cap. flavor from Janty?

At anyrate, you've helped a lot. I'm likely to wait until I get the Dura C before I order another, however, I may be getting a wider variety of juices just to expand that base for once I get the e-cig. And I may grab a few more 501's too.

Thanks!

Perhaps I should have used a better word than "proprietary." The 510 batteries are proprietary in the sense that they're specifically made for e-cigs and you can only get them from e-cig suppliers. You can use batteries specifically branded for the Janty Dura-C OR you can use more generic 510 batteries from other vendors (they just won't have the outstanding warranty provided by Janty).

Oh, yeah. Janty Cappuccino is quite popular. JantyUSA is expecting a big stock of liquids, so you'll no doubt be able to find some soon either from JantyUSA or from dietSMOKES.com (which also carries a fair number of Janty products and liquids--free shipping, too, when you get to $100, if I remember correctly).

If you really like your Dura-C and you want to pick up some extra parts for it, I've had very good success with Widows Bead Work - Home. For $50, you get a 510 starter set, which gives you two atomizers, two batteries, and another charger. You can hold those back as extra parts for your Janty Dura-C. Frankly, I don't think two batteries are nearly enough to operate a Dura-C (or any 510 for that matter) effectively unless you heavily rely on a USB passthrough battery.

JustJulie,

Ah... the battery warranty actually _means_ something ;-) Thanks.

And thanks for the link for accessories. I just ordered some from Janty except for a battery. lol. But I did get the passthrough so, I should be good. I think I have an adapter - wall to usb somewhere and I'm guessing I'll need that to run the passthough when I'm away from the computer.

I found some Janty Cappuccino and loaded up. I know I'll like that. Although it may have been an 'in stock' followed by an email indicating error. So far so good.

Regards,
Kent C

Honestly, just based upon reviews, and the use of the e-cigar battery, plus the commitment to provide adapters, and USB passthrough out of the box, I can't see a reason anyone wouldn't make their next e-smoking device the janty stick. I can't wait for mine to get here. It's one of the main reasons I went ahead and pulled the trigger on getting a 510, and went with Janty's branded version. The 510 already had a huge following, and they are going to release an adapter for the Stick so you can use the 510 atty. And worst case, you'll be using the 801 atty, which holds a ton of liquid if you drop, and seems to have a longer than usual lifespan compared to the regular mini atty's. Otherwise, I can recommend the vx2 if you just want something different, but I can't really say it's "better". Just different.

Zofreyer,

We're on the page. I _am_ thinking along the lines of Janty Stick for home use (and perhaps otherwise as well). I just needed more info on what was interchangeable to keep options open. I have decided to wait until I get my first one (on order) before getting another. Thanks for your imput.
