So.. here's my goal.

I want to make the smallest mod I can with at least a 6 hour lifespan. I want it to hold up to 6 hours of heavy vaping. I've been debating trying to use some camera batteries. I've found some pretty high mAh camera batteries in the card format (big flat rectangle) that have wall wart or USB chargers. They're not cheap but I don't really care about that. I'm thinking by using a flat battery like that I can make a relatively thin profile box mod. I'd like to use the 510 connector since they seem to be pretty popular and they allow me to be able to throw a lot of different carto/atty/tank options on it.

It seems the standard "mod" shape is bat or box. Those are nice and obviously offer a lot of power for a long time which is nice but I only really care about getting 6 hours very consistently.

Primary question here, does anyone know what sort of mAh I'd need for a good solid 6 hour heavy vape and does anyone know of a 'different' form factor for the batteries. All I'm finding is standard barrel and 9v shaped batteries. I'm assumming I want to use something build at 3.7v standard and protected which may make it bulky by deffinition.

Depending on your definition of "heavy" you are probably looking for something in the 1600mAh range. Basically a 18650 battery.

Exactly. One 18650 for a solid consistant vape for at least 6 hours. One of the box mods, or tube (copper mods) will probably be the smallest. 2x14500 will be good for 7-10 hours but requires more room

it'd be safe to assume if i run batteries in parallel as long as I have the 3.7v I should be ok on teh voltage but will increase my time right?

Considering using a number of tiny RC helicopter batteries in parallel to make a weird form factor. Then again, it'd be hard to get those protected so they don't go kablooie on me.

Take a look at the VMOD @ VAPAGE.com Premium Vaping, Disposable Ecig & Electronic Cigarette Outfitters . It uses a single 14500, I use an AW IMR14500 and it lasts me 8-10 hours and I'm a pretty heavy vapor.

Madvapes is working on a plastic box called 'The Grip'

More info on the thread Hoogie, The cats out of the bag. It's been many months since it was announced so I don't know if or when it will be released.

Right now the VMOD is your best bet and if you use code ecfvmod its $60.00.

A 14500 is good for about 3 hours, tops, of decent vaping.

I both support and endorse the above statement.

I use a single AW IMR14500 in my VMOD and it lasts for 10 hours. I use 2 Trustfires 14500 in my VV from Krimson Kustoms And it lasts 10 hours.

You Sir, are by no means a heavy vaper. An AW lasts me 3-4 hours on average. 2 get me through my workday with a spare just in case. I've needed the spare quite often. I WISH I could get 10 hours from a 14500 as I'm sure most other 14500 users would as well.

The larger eGo batteries have a longer run time than a 14500.

I'm looking into some different ideas now. Noticing some RC heli and plane batteries that are pretty interesting in form factor.

Recessing the connector is a great idea. I'm thinking about tryin to work a liquinator into a mod somehow too. I like the idea of having a ton of juice available and having that 'fresh carto' taste all day.

Here is a small project box from Madvapes that I used for my mod.

It will hold a 14650 batt. They are available in 1100 & 1300 mAh and easily last 6 hours.

Recess the connector so just the mouth piece clears the box and it would be very small.
Pretty cool did you actually finish it? Performance wise it should work much beetter than the same cell in an E-Power.

But FWIW there is no UF/TF 14650 that will provide even 1000mAh, 1300mAh is a pipe dream.

If can squeeze one of these 14670s in you may get close to the actual stated rating.

AW 14670

The Japanese/Korean cell makers tend to post accurate mAh ratings. And note AW doesn't make their cells, they buy Japanese/Korean ones, suposedly the best of each batch, and add their own PCB as most of them are unprotected, not really an end user product.

3.6 Volt 7/5 AA 940 mAh Sanyo Li-Ion 14650 Battery

Nominal Voltage: 3.7V
Size: 7/5 AA (14650)
Capacity: 940 mAh
I would assume the TF/UF that are sold are lower than that in an actual test.

I got two of those blue ones from madvapes, one will last me all day on one charge. Of course, when I am working, I don't
vape much during the day. I vape mostly in the afternoon and night which is easily 6 - 8 hours.
The first one started leaking after only a couple months. I got an AW 14650 for replacement.

I did finish that mod, see it here.
