Hello everyone. I had posted a while back about a kit for my bosses dad. Well now I need a kit for my dad.

My mom called me today quite upset. She ended up going with a "free trial" that was obviously not very free. 120 bucks for what looks like a single auto 510 short batt with a PCC and 5 cartomizers. OUTRAGEOUS! I told her to contact them for a refund and she was able to get a RMA to send it back.

In the mean time I need to get something for my dad. He's going to want something simple, I think he will do well with cartomizers. I'm not sure what kit to get for him. I prefer eGo style manual batteries and dripping but I have a feeling he liked the one he got because it was "cigarette" looking and automatic.

I've looked at some KR8 kits, but its hard for me to justify in my brain buying a kit like that for $60+ when I can get a riva kit for $30. I am going to bring him my reserve ego batt today after work with a couple cartos and see how he likes that. If he insists on having a smaller auto battery what would you guys suggest?

I can't agree with the go-go recommendation for someone new to vaping. Since he's new to it (though I'm sure he will have your help), you might want to consider a system that can use both cartos and an atty so he can have a chance to figure out what nic level works for him and to find a flavor or two he likes. Filling high capacity cartos with too high or too low of nic or a flavor he doesn't like will end up frustrating him. Get him a Riva or eGo, a couple of attys, and a couple of boxes of cartos.

Edit: small auto batteries have enough drawbacks that I hope you'll be able to talk him out of them (short life, tendency to fire when there is noise, etc). But, if that's what it has to be, you can find auto 510 kits with a PCC for around 50 bucks lots of places. If your dad spends any time away form the house, a PCC will be pretty much necessary with a small batt system.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. They arent sending the "free trial" kit back until tomorrow morning so I'll have a chance for him to compare that with my ego side by side. I personally hated the auto battery I had in the begining. I was still vaping outside a lot at the time and if there was a breeze I would get very frustrated with it. He still works and its about 45 minutes each way.

A bottom feeder might be good if he doesn't insist on the size and shape of a cig thing. Having long battery life and the ease of pumping juice in when you need it instead of having to refill something with a few drops every 15 minutes is well worth getting used to holding a different shape than you're used to.

Intellicig have a cig size 401 size auto batt which in the new version is not affected by noise, this was my first e cig, and i found it ok , it doesnt last long batt wise and the carts are so small but it really helped my transition from real cigs , just a thought, hope it helps.
and i still puff it while i watch tv lol
