Warning to Canadians

on my 5th order - always described as inhalers or batteries with never a mention of the word "cigarettes , e-cigs or tobacco" & all is good so far!

Well, maybe he should stress that the item in the pack labeled as a screwdriver is actually a screwdriver

or add a pair of pliers or a set of screws for good measure
And/or include a visible label:

it isnt labeled as anything... it isnt in a boxed labeled as an e smoking device..

its simply a brown jiffy bag saying in (in very small scrawl) electrical parts on the very small customs label...

inside that bag are several individually bubble wrapped components.. which when assembled make a screwdriver.. we think its about as customs safe as it can be..

its all been thought about... he he

I disputed the "reclassification" as a tobacco product

There was a special circumstance that allowed me to escalate right to the top of the food chain with customs.... (technical billing glitch that didn't fit any "standard" forms I could fill out)

He agrees there is no legal basis currently to charge tobacco taxes/duties this stuff in Canada, and the entire $126 charge will be dropped.

He wouldn't send me an email / fax / letter to that effect ... and got kinda annoyed that I asked for some documentation regarding fixing the amount so I didn't push it

But it looks like it will turn out OK

I STRONGLY SUGGEST if importing to Canada that you request "FAKE" or "TOY" smokes on the declaration, or something to that effect.

I think if my package said that, instead of "Toy Gift Box", it likely would have been fine
since they might have looked at the contents a little more closely
