Well back to the DNA20 I really don't feel like copy and pasting but I did have an interesting exchange with I am assuming one of the owners. He stated it is variable power, he also stated he has a Provari and he likes it much better than his Provari Yes I know it is all subjective
but the DNA20 does sound quite interesting.....
but it does make sense remembering that power chart vs resistance adjusting according to knowing the exact power hummmm

Here is one of the responses I got from the dna 20 rep

"Sure, glad to speak to a local. The Nivel has a couple of problems, the most
evident being its low current max. Plus the board interface is klugy and
difficult to work with. The dna does regulate at low batt levels and doesn't
need to be both VV and VW. Trust me, VW is better.

You can't get one in stainless since the tubes are made of 7075 aluminum
(caps are stainless, though). Our alloy is strong as steel and a lot
lighter. But you could have one in clear-coat. Hope you order soon! Thanks."

Actually I just didn't, don't understand why you would pass on the simplicity of Available Mech mods that are designed to perform under the conditions you propose. Seems more logical than want a manufacturer to provide something a low percentage of buyer would want/need.
Doesn't a mech mod start out at 4.2 volts? Since the OP wants to go below 2.5v I don't see how a mech mod would help. Am I missing something here?

The reason the OP wants a to use low voltages is so he can use sub-ohm coils on a VV device. The problem with this concept is that the whole reason people use sub-ohm coils is to be able to push higher wattages. This is utterly defeated by using sub-ohm AND low voltage. You will see no difference using a 0.8 ohm coil at 2.5volts and using a micro coil at 2.4 ohms and 4.33 volts. BOTH of those setups would produce the same wattage. While it may be what the OP wants to do, there is no benefit in doing so.

Furthermore he is asking specifically for a regulated device to "totally ignore battery/my safety". Which once again defeats the purpose of using a regulated device. It takes a mech mod with no regulation to ignore safety. It also usually takes a Darwin Award candidate to do so as well.

The purpose of having VV is not to save me it's to save my battery and my coils. The idea that a LiMn battery is going to blow up in your face is farcical. If I want my VV mod to do what I want it to do when I want it done what is the issue? A mech mod is a mech mod, it provides NO control and if I want to run sub-ohm but still have some ability to tune the amount of wattage what do I do then? Recoil it like you do and waste kanthal and time (the later of which i'm sure you have plenty of but I don't)? I think not... You make an amazingly good argument until you realize you are basically saying mech mods are good because they lack VV. VV is not inherently tied to Regulation. When you figure that out get back to me.

It appears to me that you don't really want help and prefer instead to cause problems, call names, and sling insults.

I remember reading somewhere that there's a way to 'ignore' certain users. Never felt the need for it before but I think it's going to come in useful...

At the top of the page next to My Profile is the word settings. Click on that, look under My Account, click on Edit Ignore List, add the name you wish to ignore and save.

Edit, Thanks for the tip below Scott, I don't have anyone on the list, and not planning on starting, but it is good info. Also while typing my response it seems we got a group warning, take care.

Alternatively, you can click on the persons name to bring up their profile, then under their Avatar pic there is a menu option to Add to Ignore list. This method you don't have to type the name.

This is the reply i got about the DNA from Next Gen (regarding cost and wattage/voltage) they only answered about wattage. They were very prompt tho.

"Cost is $229 for the standard model, minimum wattage = 7, lots of colors, about 3 weeks to delivery, and you can buy it at NexGen Vapor | The Utimate DNA 20 Ecig All the details are on the site. Thanks."
