Ohms is a measure of resistance; the amount of back push the coil offers to the battery.

Watts is the actual heat that the coil develops.

In a variable wattage (wattage controlled) device, the voltage (or push) that is delivered to the coil can vary, depending on the ohms (resistance) of the device. No matter what device you put on the end, the mod will deliver the voltage necessary to give that many watts (heat) you have it set for. With that type of mod, you don't need to worry about voltage; the mod will vary it to maintain a constant heat level.
