I'm using a istick mini 10w with a dual coil cartomizer with 1.5ohm per the package when I use a wattage calculator do I put in 1.5 or 3 ohms to see how many watts I'm using.

Also vaping at 4.0v setting
So if I put in 1.5ohm I get over 10w

Whatever you set the watts to the mod will automatically have the correct volts for the resistance the coil is.

Same if you set the volts.

If using a 1.5Ω coil and set it to 8 watts that will be 3.46 volts.
Put the watts to 10 and the volts will be 3.87 volts.
If put 4v on 1.5Ω and the mod only has a 10 watt limit then its probably firing it at 10 watts or 3.87 volts.

Oh and if its a prebuilt dual coil then the resistance will be whats on the coil or the packet.

If its a coil you build then it will be half of one coil.
2 x 3Ω coils = 1.5Ω total resistance.

Thanks you answered my question well.

Since none of my batteries have vw only vv

So since my coil is prebuilt at 1.5ohm and my wattage limit is 10. Should I back the volts down to like 3.7 or 3.6 or does it matter bc it's regulated and will only fire to 10w? Does it affect the battery if the volts are set to provide more watts than it can supply?

I know on an unregulated mod this would be bad

It won't fire more than its capable of.
Just dial through the volts/watts until your happy with the vape.

When I say volts/watts i mean whatever you have it set to display.
Don't have the 10w istick but have used the 20w istick and on that one you could choose to set the watts or volts.

like I said if you choose the watts the mod will choose the volts and same for choosing the volts.

Its the ohms law.

Your iStick will only reach 10w regardless of the volts setting (if that's what it says).

I tend to back off the volt setting (on something like an evic or Vamo) so the watts are just under the maximum.

It's probably a crazy thing to do... but something annoys me about turning anything up to full if it's not actually doing anything.

The rule is the same with EVERY vape device you'll ever own. Start low in power (volts or watts) and take a draw. Bump the power up a little and repeat. If it gets to warm or starts to taste burnt, back it down.

Just a side note... If you grab a more powerful mod, it will have a larger battery with more mAh (milliamp hours). You will get longer battery life between charges, and it's likely the mod will last longer since you won't be maxing it out every time you press the firing button. If what you have is working for you, that's great. But in the future you may want to upgrade to a 20W or 30W device for the reasons listed above. Plus the 10W stick severely limits what type of tank you can use. It's designed for Kanger Protanks and such. It's slightly underpowered for even a Nautilus. Just my . Welcome to the forum BTW.
