Ouch my rear is sore! I got everything sorted tonight went to my local brick and mortar that sold me those batteries demanded a refund (I buy a lot of juice there if I run out of TFA ) my bud gave me a Sony vtc4 from his stable. I got 4 MNKE 1500mha 30a from fatdaddysvapes and a i4 charger. About the meter I was told by he depot that I had to touch the leads and subtract the amount from my reading and now I'm on track put the numbers in the calculated built the coil metered it and all is well. I took the advice and cleaned my Atty and contacts. Thanks for the chewing everyone. Honestly!

Glad you're taking it well :)

Those of us who've been around the block a few times have seen some pretty scary and dangerous stuff happen, and want you to vape safe. And we ALL started out un-educated

Yes, with any DMM that doesn't have a "zero" function (generally found only on higher end ones), put it on the Ω scale you want to use (the lowest for coils, typically 200 Ω), short the leads firmly and let the reading settle. That's your lead resistance. Note what it is, and subtract it from the coil reading. Low end meters usually come with fine gauge wire int the test leads, and a 0.3 Ω resistance isn't uncommon. And that's a pretty big percent of a coil!

Huh, hadn't heard that. I actually use an Xtar model, with an Intellicore for backup. But I've read many reports of the Trustfire being problematic.

same here, and i meter my batteries going in and coming out. sony vct5's charge to 4.18V and my new Samsung 25r's charge to 4.16 V every time. i also recharge at 3.8, that where i notice the drop off. no problem and the sony's are about 3 months old.

Same here. My Nitecore Intelli has done every VCT4 and VCT5 to 4.18v everytime. I do pop them out and check them every now and then if the charge time seems really long, but they always end up metering out just over 4v. The charger usually kicks off shortly after.

When they work right - fine. When they don't work right they fail miserably by over charging, arriving with loose parts that didn't get soldered in place, overheat, etc. etc.

The "short" list of Nitecore problems on ECF. Short as in is just stuff I trip across, not something I go out of the way to look for. Who the hell knows how many more problems have been reported on ECF about them.
