I've had my Omega for about a week now and it started out fine, getting really strong hits. But in the last couple of days I've been getting weak ones, even on fully charged batteries. I've tested the batteries with other equipment and they're fine. The weird thing is, the hits on the Omega are just fine if I take the Delrin washer out.

I've also noticed that the contact with the battery doesn't happen until 2/3s pushed down. It doesn't meet up with the stiffer resistance at half way like it first did. Also the gap is narrower on one side than the other.

Sounds like there may be something preventing the derlin from seating properly. Have you taken it apart to clean it?

I don't have the right tool to unscrew the nut/bolt thing. I've only Taken the Delrin out and put it back in several times to see if it makes any difference. When putting it back in I've pushed it down very hard with my thumbs and it won't go any further. The hit strength seems to have improved a bit but it still seems to need depressing just a little too far before it meets the higher resistance.

Think I've figured it out...I think it's just these 2 carts I've been using quite a bit. The stardust I first used when I got it on a 510 to ego adapter, and a new carto seem to restore the resistance threshold for the switch.....it looks like these cartomisers I've been using extensively must be made of relatively soft metal or something and have flattened out a little maybe. When screwing in a new carto it gets a bit stiffer as I get towards the end of screwing in. But the older one doesn't do that. I can even see the difference in protusion between them, the little bit that rests on the the pin/pad seems to have recessed into the thread sleeve.

EDIT: looking at my other new carts it would appear to be a manufacturing problem, a variance caused by poor quality control at smoktech.

Another update on the situation. It turns out it was a combination of the above and an oversized battery. The Ultrafire 2600 mah battery, often sold with the Omega, is of poor quality and too big to boot. My Ultrafires were degenerating in their output day by day (I tested them) and barely firing even with decent cartos after a while. Also, they're too big and were causing too high a tension on the top plunger. Decently manufactured cartos helped, but now that I've tried decently sized batteries I realise just how easy the switch is on this thing. For the people complaining about the top plunger being too tense, try another battery, especially if you're using Ultrafire.
