Hello Fellow Vapers, Lurkers, Noobs and Experts!

Here today to report on my first full week without an analog. Very pleased to say that cravings for analogs are negligible and I am 100% devoted (to the point of evangelizing) to the vaping lifestyle. After I post this today I am taking a smoking friend to our local B&M. She is interested and I am chauffeuring her there myself! Husband is next!

First I want to thank the E-Cigarette Forum for existing and the wonderful, generous, patient and supportive membership. So far just about everyone I've encountered in the vaping community has been eager to support everyone else. It's really refreshing when so much of the internet can be quite cruel.

Secondly, a big shout-out to the YouTube videos for their information. I have gotten so many good ideas and reinforcement from watching these. Thank you so much.

So, here goes:

1) I vape AS NEEDED. I'm on a 6 mg juice so I vape with abandon. This "ruined" my tongue for the "flavor" of analogs. Analogs smell like ashy feet to me now.

2) I drink a ton of water. I have a 64 oz bottle I'm refilling 4-5 times a day.

3) One week in and I'm not hacking up first thing in the morning. I expect this to change in a week or two as my lungs start to clean out (or so I've heard).

4) As a noob I only wanted tobacco flavors. After a month of vaping, I am now craving new flavors, especially fruits. Thank goodness I still have some birthday money left because I am buying online from recommended sellers left and right.

5) My self-esteem has improved greatly. As a woman pushing 40 I really needed to take control of something to improve myself. Can't control getting older. I CAN control aging my body prematurely. Vaping has empowered me and has taken away some of the aspects of fear from getting older.

6) VAPER'S TONGUE!! Keeping a bag of lemon lozenges nearby is a lifesaver! Or Lifesavers are lifesavers. Whichever. :)

Thank you All again for being here and supporting us! Have a great day.

Congrats! It's great isn't it? I've been working diligently on converting every smoker I know. Unfortunately, I know a lot of people who aren't so keen on messing with gadgets. So, the only two successful converts I've made were the two that I was in the position to help a great deal. My husband and my sister. Tried to convert my mother in law, but even cigalikes seemed "alien" to her and she just wasn't comfortable with it. Shortly after she started vaping, the media started releasing horror story after horror story about vaping and she is now convinced that vaping is worse then smoking and trying to push us back to smoking. My husband just NOW is starting to try and troubleshoot things himself. Took him 6 months of getting comfortable enough with it to not be afraid of trying something. My sister took to vaping fairly easily, but also went back to analogs very easily when she couldn't figure out what was wrong and kept loosing her gear.

I had no cravings at all for my first 6 months. Oddly, to me anyhow, I began craving cigarettes. I felt like I had a good foundation for staying away from them and just vaped more to compensate.

I'm getting close, and looking forward, to another milestone for myself. 10,000 cigarettes NOT smoked. That's a huge number that's actually hard, for me, to imagine. 10,000..... Wow!

That is such a :censored: shame. As soon as I spoke about Vaping on another non-Vaping-related board, a younger smoker I know tried to relay some fear-prop she'd heard from her brother. Im thinking, here I am trying to do something really good for myself, and already it's being shot down. Just great.

I suppose even if it took your husband 6 months that's better than his not ever trying it.

Thanks for the support. This has changed my life and I just want to scream it from the rooftops!!!

Be strong! I know when/if I cross that bridge I will be looking for support from all sides.

Congratulations to you. It brings me such joy to hear success stories. You're an inspiration to me!!

First off, kudos on your first week!

Within my experiences, I never experienced the anticipated 'lung purge'. I did endure scalp 'eruptions' and nasal/ear pimples in da most remote and inaccessible crevasses! Thankfully, my digital spelunking demands have waned.

Not everyone coughs up da 'junk'. Our bodies can eliminate impurities internally.

Continued good luck!

Great Job! Me and you are in the same boat right now... The strangest thing is I have been vaping for a couple years now, but just recently stopped smoking (see my signature). I have always preferred fruity or sweet flavors but after I quit smoking I almost strictly prefer tobacco flavors. Not the kind that try to replicate a cigarette taste, but what is typically labeled as tobacco flavor in the industry. Basically juices that have random flavors but always have a dry finish to them, not sweet and no menthol. It is so weird how I now prefer tobacco flavors after I quit tobacco. That is something I have never heard of and your situation is what I typically see (liking fruity flavors more instead of tobacco after quitting).

Same here, I am yet to experience any sort of coughing up nasty stuff. I have a feeling it might be high PG juices causing this. I think maybe the PG is somehow keeping everything in. Maybe someone that vaped strictly VG juices can comment? Or someone who vaped high PG and coughed up a lot of nasty ish?

It's so crazy, isn't it? Looking at the number of cigarettes you have avoided. Even me picturing the close to 100 I have avoided is just so strange to imagine. 100 burning cigarettes would have entered my lungs and a good bit of that stuff in smoke would have been here to stay. Just helps me realize why I quit...

I don't think she'll ever stop smoking really. She suffers from macular degeneration, and is going blind. The doctor told her the smoke is speeding up the process, which is what pushed her to ask me to set her up in the first place. Unfortunately her husband is suffering from dementia, and while he always remembers to ask her when she's quitting, he keeps forgetting that he asked her less then 5 minutes ago. With that to deal with, I haven't bothered her about it, but I think that's why she keeps telling my husband and I that we're inhaling poison. I think she's trying to convince her husband that he needs to leave her alone about the cigarettes and bug us instead.
