Ok I feel weird asking this question as I feel it should be intuitive the answer but for some reason as I am learning what I thought vaping is and the proper ways and techniques are not always what I thought they were so better safe and ask then to ruin my vivi nova tank or the atomizer in it. So here is the situation I have refilled this particular tank two times the first time I used straight up RY4 from myfreedomsmokes.com, the second time it was a blend of RY4 and Halo's Tribeca as I was trying to get creative. Well I'm at a point that I am pushing less than 1ml in the tank which has a 3.5 ml capacity. that said I want to refill it with straight RY4 as I have another tank that is dedicated to Tribeca already and preferred it as is and not blended. For that matter I may not use RY4 in this tank I may try another one of my juices I'm not 100% sure just yet. So my question as simple as it may sound is how do I use up the rest of the juice and empty the tank enough to open it without wasting that 1ml of juice I have left in it. Do I vape it until it is at a bare minimum like a trace of liquid but the wicks are still wet , or do I let it still vape when there is no juice in the tank and the wicks start to dry or finally is there a amount of juice that is just expected to be lost and dumped..... I guess I have the same question for my kangertech protanks though those I have pretty much dedicated to two other flavors and just keep on topping them off but when I run out of those juices I guess this question would apply to the protank as well....... and I assume it is different as one is a dual wick top feed the vivi nova and the protank is a bottom feed. sorry for the stupid question but I really do not know the answer ..... I do NOT want to damage the tanks or the atomizer thanks !!!!

A 5 ml blunt needle syringe would work to pull out most of it (even before it gets to the 1 ml point). If you don't want to put it back in the original bottle you can just use a sample size bottle to store "mixed" juice in. Rinse out your tank, clean the head and it's good to go for your next flavor.

never ever put juice back in the bottle you can contaminate the good juice , i have a friend that is a chemist and was informed that condensation from your tank could harbor microorganisms if poured back into your bottle could grow and who knows if they would be good ones or bad ones i would not take that chance

In conclusion to this question I originally posted .... I ended up vaping the vivi nova down to about .25ml appx. and ended up dumping the .25 or less..... the wicks were still fully saturated so I do not believe I hurt the atomizer at all...I rinsed it all out , dry it off, patted the wick dry put her back together did a brief dry burn on the coil.... replaced the tank and top cap and reassembled the rest of the components ..... refilled it with some straight RY4 and off and running I went.... so far so good...... should I assume the same processs with the protanks from kangertech ?

What he said.^

Don't put 'used' ejuice back into a bottle containing clean juice. Juice that has circulated in a clearomizer around a gunked up coil is contaminated with "coil goo."

Either vape your juice all the way down and then rinse your clearo or refill your tank with a compatible flavor--if you like both flavors you may create a third great flavor! ;) Usually, the traces of the old juice will disappear after a few minutes of vaping.

FWIW I would never and this is no offense to the posts that recommended I put the used juice back in the original container. Completely unrelated to ecigs but I am a Master bewer and hold a masters degree in brewing sciences and one of the main principles of sanitary liquids and transfers is to never mix a used or sample with a pure culture or in this case juice essentially it is the same concept and also supports the concept of cleaning your gear on a regular basis as believe it or not the condensation that builds in the drip tips or the mouthpiece does mix with minute amounts of saliva and other exhaled bacteria in your mouth so it would go without saying the juice has a certain un-pure nature to it. Now to the point of blending. I am so new I thought I was being smart by mixing RY4 and Tribeca in a 50/50 mix and I hated it...... never mind a third flavor.... I think as new as I am I should focus on my technique and learn the ropes before I venture to far from home base eventually maybe but for now I am very content with single flavor pre mixed juices.

I got my first ever dry hit tonight using my protanks till empty...that did not taste good at all...but it didnt appear to hurt my wick. I just found a flavor I didnt even want to waste a single drop of

Yeah I have had a few dry hits from my protank and it is not a good taste LOL ..... but I know the feeling I was just vaping Turkish tobacco from Halo and I tried to milk that as long as I could .... I just love that juice so much.

this wont damage those little baby wicks in it to let the level go that low ? I would assume a lot of dry hits

Don't let it go empty--you'll most certainly get a dry hit.

And take an occasional primer hit--without activating battery--to force eliquid down onto the coil and to remove any air bubbles.

But it won't damage the wick; the wick is made out of silica rope and is pretty much fireproof.
