So I got a kanger evod and t3s. Now the coils are cheap enough just to change them, but since I seem to like to vape like somewhat excessively lol, and I notice that the juice seems to look darker and thicker after about 2 fills, I figured I'm going to end up changing them like crazy. So anyhow, I thought hey why don't I take that old one on the counter and try dry burning it to see what happens I watched all the videos and did it exactly, except for that I had rinsed it earlier this morning and left it to dry. So I did, and it did work as far as the wick got nice and white, but I definitely burned it or something cause it got a hella bad smell. So just out of curiosity what did I do wrong? Did it need to be wet before I did it? Or did I hold the button down too long? And is it my imagination or does my battery now smell the same burnt way? It was a pretty bad smell lol and now I can't stop thinking I smell it.
Ah well the weird things I do when bored! Lol

Sweet! Thanks. I'm going to give it another shot in the morning for fun. Another reason to love vaping, always something new to learn or monkey around with when I start to get bored, lol. Analogs never provided me with all this entertainment! And it keeps me from rearranging the furniture in my house just because my anxiety tells me to do something lol.

Hi Sally.

I can tell you that when I was using the silica clearos, There really is nearly nothing that can kill them aside from tooo much voltage. Just do your dry burning ( with pulsing on/off every few seconds) and once you see the coils glowing evenly rinse the remaining residue and dry burn again to be sure the coil is all cleaned up and you should be good-as -nearly-new.

The thing that it sounds like you may be smelling is what didn't get fully burned off. Basically you may not have burned off ALL the old residue, and what did burn is what you still smell.

Keep at it and you will be a pro at dry burning those coils in no time at all. Good Luck, Happy Vaping.
