weird solvent taste on cisco LR 510 1.5

like i said, weird burning solvent taste with this 1 atty. all my others taste fine so i know it's not my juice just this one has a real hot vapor and a real weird solvent taste. happened once i cleaned it for the first time, never had an issue cleaning an atty before, so i dont know what the issue could be

i don't own a multi meter, but if the resistance changed that sucks. cause i mean... this atty tastes like death

Attys do weird things. I have a Cisco 510 that burnt out the first day I used it, and another that has been flawless for 4 weeks. I'd put on a different atty and go to Harbor Freight and buy a cheap multimeter. If the atty is misbehaving or shorts out, it can damage your batts and/or the switch.

Also, if your getting dry hits it would taste really nasty.

im not using it, i capped it with carto condoms and threw it in my "junk" attys drawer. ill check on it later if i can get a multi meter

.... that sucks .... only other suggestion I can make is try dripping from the top 3 drops or so see if that makes a difference.. Well actually at this point, I would blow all the excess juice out, prime with 2-3 drops let it soak in and then drip 2-3 drops from the top.. If it still tastes like .... then you might have a dud... Sucks because Cisco doesn't accept returns.. I found out the hard way.. Good Luck and keep us posted!!

well, it's not a dud cause it was fine before. i have dried, cleaned recleaned and reprimed it a few times, even tried to dry burn it to see if there was some crud on it making it taste ....ty. ill just leave it stashed away till i can meter it out.

I had one like that, emailed Cisco and he suggested removing the wick. I removed ONLY the wick and it tastes/works fine now.

To get the wick out, use a paper clip to coax it out from under the bridge, then pull it out with tweezers. You likely won't get it all in 1 try, that's normal.

Great suggestions, but I'll stick with better safe than sorry. If it meters OK, then you can take the wicking out and give it a shot.

well, i figured since the atty tasted like ...., and i didnt wanna go get a multi meter, i would just debridge/dewick it and see if that helps if not, ill just order another couple attys from avid vaper and get another drip tip while im at it. the taste is good now, i pulled the bridge, rinced it out, dry burned the coils in short 2 second bursts, reprimed, and it was good as new. the taste is gone. i guess something got into the wick or cought in the bridge making it taste like doo-doo

Good! Glad it worked! Seriously, since most of what can go wrong with a REO is either attys or batts, a multimeter is a pretty valuable piece of equipment. I only recently came that understanding.

money is too tight right now, if my girlfriend gets this job on monday then i can free up some funds to get a few things i need. but for now, this solved my issue
