Oh good grief are you guys getting hit by earthquakes? How big are they? Not looking forward to that part of cali but pixie went through one.. Anyone remember the landers quake in '92?

We were hit by a 6.0 2 weeks ago sunday at 3:20 am. Pretty much destroyed downtown napa and took probably half the chimny's in american canyon down. Got squashed by my dresser. Amazingly there were 0 deaths.

We live about 4 miles, if that, from the epicenter of the big quake (6.0) but it was here in our hometown of American Canyon. It was pretty violent. That's the only real was to describe it. Try to imagine your whole house being shaken, like in a mechanical sifter, and then hit by a MAC truck going 60MPH several times. It was freaky, I have to say, and the aftershocks don't help the anxiety much. Born and grew up most of my life in Cali but you can't really prepare for it.
Even with all that, the big ones only happen every 15-20 years or so, so I think I would take that over hurricane and tornado seasons any day. Lived in Biloxi when I was younger and went through a hurricane scare so I think that is worse IMO.

I'm in CT. You can keep your earthquakes, hurricanes and tornados. I'll stick with the snowstorms. Ill just keep my board waxed and my boys snowmobile gassed up

Lol I try to stay out of the southern states these days. When they name a Hurricane after you that does so much destruction it's bound to make people a little uncomfortable when you introduce yourself. "Hi, I'm Katrina...Yes like the hurricane (sigh)"
Depends. The smart/quick guys may give ya a Lil wink. "just like the hurricane?" ;-)
