I have to laugh a bit . . . at Christmas, my girls (16 and 20) were having a serious discussion about the kind of guys they were some day going to marry. My oldest said that she was going to marry a geek, a nerdy guy kind of like her dad. My poor husband objected to the characterization, insisting that he's not really a nerd or a geek.

Our youngest chimed in that, oh, yes, he was but that it was okay because she, too, agreed that she wanted to marry a geek. I interjected that I thought that was a good idea, that intelligent, nerdy guys were quite sexy. My youngest said, "Yeah, and really grateful for the attention."



Yes, my husband really is a nerdy/geeky guy. And after 26 years of marriage, I still find him incredibly sexy (and, yeah, he is pretty grateful).

There's a HUGE difference here. At least there was where I grew up!

If you were IN BAND..... well.... God help ya!!! You had to be buddies with Zippy the Wonder Nerd, 'cause you were right there with him.

OMG, I am laughing so hard. Being in a band would have been cool beyond belief. My poor husband was in band, wearing a uniform, and marching on the football field with his trombone.

As for the $$$$$$, well, we aren't exactly living high on the hog, but I have no complaints.
