hi guys, i'm donne.

and i've been browsing ecf forums for over 6 months now. so i'm pretty much accustom already even though i'm new to how things work here. what i missed was the 5 post here first part.

so i understand i can't spam, but i've only joined for one sole purpose; figuring out what the heck is wrong with my hh.357 on my vmod.

anywho, before i go and ask that on the bf mods section under that useful thread (of which i'll probably ask here in my thread as well): problems with my vmod, allow me to introduce myself. since i joined, i will probably post like crazy now. tbh, i've been meaning to join, but since i got me an all day pv, i've been stuck on that and not really looking for anymore info. till now that is.

first off, i'm 5 months off analogs. yay me! i've been smoking since i was 14 and i'm 22 now. shame i can't find anymore vapors out here where i'm at. my lil toys spark up conversations at parties. you could say i'm less shy then a person who has nothing to "show off". :p

second, i'm very computer literate; and i learn things fast. i'll hardly ever do the same mistake a 2nd time on a bbc or forum. saying that, this 5 post thing really irks at me as i want to get an idea what might be my problem.

third, my problem. my 357 works on my pass-throu but it only works for like half a sec and cuts off about 3 times before it's "dead" on my vmod. i thought it was the post, so i pulled it out ever so slightly, but it still does the same thing. Then i'm thinking it may be my battery. it could very well be, but my hybrid 2.0 ohm silo atty that came with my vmod kit works perfectly on my vmod. then i tried a boge LR on my vmod. fires but that's not what i'm going to use on a bf.

so... any ideas? i'm sadden at the fact that i have to use my silo atty again. it's like going from newports to marbolo lights when all you have been smoking are newports for 7 years in the span of 1 hour. well the vapor and TH anyways, minus the combustion of chemicals you would be inhaling from an analog.

anyways,

hi.

Sounds like a short in the atomizer that is activated by the post going in, and by pulling your post, you are correcting the short.

The only solid way I know to fix it and troubleshoot it, is to of course, open the atomizer.

Therein lies the problem, do you waste $20 worth of atomizer on a hunch? I would contact the manufacturer first and see if they can help you before you go this route. I'm more DIY with my gear if I have issues with it, and I tend to be able to tinker with anything to get it working but not everyone is like that.

btw, one way to troubleshoot my hypothesis, barely and I mean BARELY screw it onto your passthrough, bit by bit and try vaping it. When it finally fires, leave it like that and vape it for a while to see if it stops again.

If it doesn't, SHORT!
If it does, then throw my idea out the window.

thanks for the info. i guess i'll try the "short" cut to fixing my hh.357. i don't get how it works on my ego, my ego mini, and my smok tech pass through but not on my vmod. i've pulled the short down to where i know it will connect onto the vmod battery. it worked once since then but i haven't been able to do it again. it just fires, dies, fires again, and dies. and when i say fire i mean i hear "ssss" when i fire, and "ss" and then "s" with very little vapor production. so i know it's made contact. but if it does have a short in the atty itself, doesn't that mean it wouldn't work on my other devices as well?

i'm also finding that my vapor from my vmod is also less then average from what i used to get when i take it off the charger at green. could my battery be faulty or like psu's on a pc, work but not to it's fullest capabilities? like it won't fire 1.5 ohms?

i've see pbusardo's vid on when he experimented with a super low ohm carto at a very high volt. it would seem like it's doing the same as what i'm currently getting with my 357 on my vmod. so when i get a new battery from a local militia catering store i'm going to see if that's the case.

if that is the case, i'm never buying a battery from AV again.

here's another question: can a vmod use a 901? i want to try out a 901 357 on it.

quick update: it's not even firing now even with my post pulled down.
