Wet Box Cartomizers taste burned

I just put a new cartomizer and juice in my Wet Box and it still tastes like burnt paper. What am I doing wrong? I've only had it for 3 days and a friend lent it to me. I'm kind of lost on this. Please help. Could it just be the carts I'm using. They are Easy E carts that came with the lending.

The carto might need to be refilled or it could just be a bad carto. It might be new to you, but the carto itself might not be. Try putting some more juice in it and let it sit for a few minutes before you use it.

AFAIK you shouldn't be using cartos with a wetbox. Just an atomizer with a drip tip. Am I getting this wrong?

You can if there's no juice bottle in it. If you're trying to use a carto with a juice bottle, then it probably won't work well. Good catch, Mickey!

Did you fill the carto for the first time? How much juice? And did you wait and help it absorb juice into every bit of the stuffing? if you don't do that, you can singe the stuffing and ruin the flavor of the carto.

True but, I'm not sure why you would. Then again, I don't have one so maybe it makes sense. I was envisioning a carto with a vertical heating element and squeezing juice up into the bottom. I can imagine that would result in some really burnt tastes.

And you're correct with that assumption. The point of a Wet Box is to be able to drip by feeding, rather than directly dripping. When you're using a carto, the juice has to seep into the filler in order to keep it wet. They can be used with a Wet Box, but the carto would have to be filled first. Then I could see maybe using a bottle of juice to keep it wet throughout the day, but it would be easier to just use an atty.

I have used cartomizers on a Wetbox without issues. I filled the cartomizer first then I would squeeze the bottle every 5-6 draws. This kept the juice level up, and no burnt taste.
