DISCLAIMER:I read an article about this and this is my take away from it. I am not a doctor.

Wet lung is gotten from breathing large amounts of dust and particulate matter which ecigs do not contain. It is effectively an allergic reaction. Iirc it was the particular opinion of a single doctor that one person had gotten their wet lung from vaping and that they should stop vaping. No tests, no science, one dude’s opinion.
While not impossible that the doctor was referring to a PG sensitivity, This person was a teen and it is reasonable that the doctor told him the issue was caused by vaping simply to get him to stop

I didn't watch the video and to be honest I don't really intend to. So I don't know if this guy has any real science to back him up, but how could he? Vaping just hasn't been going on long enough to truly know the health effects. But, I don't think we should pretend there aren't going to be health risks with vaping. There are risks with everything humans do. Still, I wouldn't recommend vaping to ANYONE who isn't already a nicotine user. But if you ARE a nicotine user, this is probably one of the safer means of satisfying your habit. Please, let's NOT tell people that they might as well smoke. That seems to be the message, unfortunately.

Search ecig news stories. Set dates going back some years then work your way forward in time and you'll see the ecig liars club grows ever more outrageous. Last I heard vaping contributes to global warming. Look up at the sky. If it's cloudy, well, blame those highschool kids vaping again.

Well, I mean, a year's worth of vaping probably consumes as much energy as running a hair dryer for 15 minutes, which would contribute some infinitesimal amount to global warming.

I'll put this in the same bucket as the Flat Earthers, Anti-Vaxers and the lot.
You may have seen mention of this condition on the interwebs as a misguided attempt to mudsling at vaping.

    Agreed

For those of you who didn't bother to watch the video, perhaps you should.

Basically a teenager developed acute respiratory distress syndrome, she had also recently started vaping. The finger was then pointed by certain people at vaping as the cause.

The video debunks this. The video is pretty much self contained so I didn't bother explaining it to any great length or repeating the links that are in the video because I assumed people would take ten minutes to watch it. I'm not in the habit of posting scaremongering health shockers, I posted this because I like to be in a position when someone puts one in my face, I have the required facts to throw it back.

At the end he shows a response from Konstantinos Farsalinos categorically stating that this is yet another attempt to throw mud at vaping. I couldn't find the article so I screen grabbed from the video (for those who haven't got the required ten minutes to watch it).

I even know a Flat Earther personally.

    Seriously? They exist?

There are some "scientists" that are now claiming that the whole universe is actually 2 dimensional and we only perceive it to be 3 dimensional. Kind of like watching a 3D movie on a flat screen. The image is 2D but with the right perspective it appears 3D. Not sure where they come up with this bovine excrement.

I'm confused, are you comparing my post to flat earthers and anti-vaxers? Or the original claim that is the subject of the thread? (Honestly, I don't know what I said that would be controversial)
