Yes don’t really want to deal with chargers and buying batteries it’s always been a pain to me. I have had both and personally just find internal batts more convenient

The problem with that is the fact that after the FDA deeming next May, there probably won't be any more mods to buy period. Those internal battery mods will fail when the batteries fail. With external battery mods, you'll just need to buy more batteries.

I addition to what @Oregon Linda said, most mods come with a usb port for charging, so if you really want to avoid swapping out batteries you can charge using the usb instead of using an external charger... Then you would only need to change the batteries out on very rare occasions (when they permanently die).

But between the May 2020 deadline and the tax bill on the floor for $2,780/liter of 100mg, stocking up on 100mg nicotine should be a priority over anything else though.

As others have said you may want to just include a couple external batteries if you're in the US anyway just because the lifespan of most internal battery devices is shorter once those batteries go you're done. Now if you can buy 30 plus all in ones or small systems than you might be okay depending on how long you want to prepare for. But you might want to just have something external battery on hand just in case you need it even if you don't like it. I'd like to add the freemax gemm to your list I don't like subtanks and I don't like internal battery mods but I love that darn thing. The flavor on it Rivals most of my rta's

Internal battery mods would still would be garbage in 3-5+/- years even if they are unused...
Oh..yikes. why is that and would that also apply to our batteries I've always kind of wondered how long their shelf life is unused

Sorry I'm having some issues with my talk text and it likes to repeat the things I've said so my post may have just looked like garbage

Internal batteries eventually just die, just like AA batteries do, unused in the junk drawer, or installed in a flashlight you never use.

18650s and all others will only live so long, cycles or uncycled, but we’ll be able to buy more if them. I have no info on how long they’ll last. I’ve had some that started not fully charging after 4+ years. None have failed in the last two years. I have about 2 dozen batteries and rotate them all.

Someone - probably Mooch - said how many cycles they average but I can’t remember, 1,000 maybe?

I just think they’ll hold up better being used once or twice a week than they would being used every day or not at all. Could be wrong.

Nice. I didn't even see those when I googled Best internal battery mods. Seems the obs cube is popular.
I'm like you, never wanted to fuss with batteries. Get what you like, nobody knows what will happen down the road.

It's hard to give a definite answer as some will wind up outlasting others, but 3 - 5 years if stored properly sounds about right. Mooch recommends putting all your batteries in rotation rather than storing them. They deteriorate over time whether or not you use them, so you might as well get some occasional use out of them before they go.

If you do choose to store them for whatever reason, they'll last longest if stored at a charge of 3.6 - 3.7 v. As they discharge over time, you'll also want to check them every so often and charge them up a bit if they drop below that.

My iStick 40w devices are all still going strong after 4+ years of use, so I've stocked up on a few extras of those to have lying around when one finally dies. But for the most part, I agree with others here, stocking up on external battery mods is the way to go given the situation we find ourselves in at the moment.
