Good morning , everyone.

I'm in the market for a new set of 18650's today for my sigelei 100w Plus. I've been using the baby blue Samsung 18650's and have been very pleased. Just simply curious what others are using and if you might recommend me something better than the Samsung batteries. I drip and am currently use a Plume Veil.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sony VTC4. I like the thicker safety margin because I'm a Mekkie. The Sammy 25Rs are also excellent batteries. I do think a 100watt regulated mod is about as far as I'd like to take them, though. I wold prefer VTC4s in a 150 for example. Not a problem in my case. Being the mekkie I am, and a firm believer in the KISS principle, I run VTC4s in everything and am cheerfully willing to give up the extra 400mAh against the 25Rs. But don't let me talk you out of the 25Rs if that's what you want. They should do great in that mod and they're really good batteries. Also a buck cheaper last time I looked.

I have 6 AW 18650 IMRs that I bought for my Provari only because they were, at the time, the only fully recommended battery for that mod. When I got a Subox I bought 4 Sammy 25R's. I've used both in my Subox, I can't use those Sammy flat tops in my older Provari.

I don't see any difference, and considering I got the Sammy's for 5 bucks each (with a nice case for each pair I bought) at illumn.com I don't see any reason to pay more. Nor have I seen anything credible here to suggest I can improve on those.

My personal philosophy is that 18650s, in general, are designed for 20 amps max, and I have no desire to push that so I don't need to worry about higher rated batteries and if the ratings are legit, and etc. Mooch's tests, in his blog, suggest there is only one battery that can actually handle more than 20A safely (at least within the population he tested). His blog is well worth reading if one wants to go north of 100W or so.

I like the Sony VTC4's for higher than 20A.
The Samsung 25R's for around 20A.
The Samsung 30Q or LG HG2 for 15A or under.
