If not, you can always re-fill with your own or buy gourmet e-liquid to (re) fill cartomisers.

Agreed with this. There are vendors out there who sell flavored juice up to 48mg(that I've seen), and vendors who sell flavorless up to 100mg. Don't vape that stuff straight though, it may cause massive problems.

Personally, I think 36mg is a decent top end. I realize though that some people may want more nicotine. I'd be afraid that if V4L started stocking more powerful cartos and liquids, that they'd mostly sit on the shelf collecting dust.

gowiththeflow, if you're interested, PM me and I can share some links with you that I've found for DIY stuff.

For those people here who find that nicotine alone is not enough to quit smoking (and there are more than a few of us here), there's a good reason -- tobacco is much more than nicotine, and it contains a whole spread of alkaloids that create the psychoactive effect of smoking.

Snus is a pouch of tobacco that undergoes a traditional Swedish processing method. It is definitely safer than dip, which comes with a high risk of oral cancer and other nasties, and snus doesn't require spitting. (Snus has been used for ages in Sweden, and it's probably a major reason they have such low smoking rates -- and snus hasn't brought any big public health problems with it.)
You simply hold a little pouch under your upper lip, and let it absorb. The tobacco-specific nitrosamines are higher than you get from e-cigs, but the dangers are considerably less than cigarettes because there are no burn products and tar; you're not pulling terrible stuff into your lungs.
The safer-than-cigarettes tobacco alternatives -- snus, snuff, and dissolvables -- are excellent supplements if you find yourself experiencing anxiety, cravings, or other ongoing symptoms once you've switched to vaping. Using them when needed is still better than smoking again. Check out the Other Alternatives to Smoking forum for more information.

Oh, and I'm not surprised that vendors don't sell cartomizers above 36mg. The risks of vaping that high a nic concentration if your body isn't accustomed to it are greater, and very few people need a higher level than 36mg. (I suspect they are part of the crowd that needs something other than nicotine.)
Selling prefilled cartos is sending a message that they are meant to be consumed directly -- bringing unavoidable liability upon the seller for any consumer risks.
People who vape above 36mg here have several options for eliquid sellers who provide flavored 48mg, but vendors can and do often state that such high nic liquids are "meant only to be cut", and consuming them directly is at the customer's own risk. You can't say that about cartomizers.
Just my thinking.

I've read some of your previous posts, gowiththeflow, and I have just a quick question. In one of your previous posts, (01-02-10) you stated that you had not smoked in 25 years and accidentally tried a 4mg in the mall when you meant to try 0mg. I realize sometimes that no matter how long someone has been quit that they might crave an analog/the feeling an analog provides.
But why on earth are you now smoking 36mg cartos? AND beyond that wanting to go to a higher mg?
I smoked Marlboro Lights for nearly 10 years straight before switching to V4L and I'm comfortable at 11mg-18mg. I know everyone is different, but this is just an honest question that I think about everytime Ive seen you post pretty much anything.
