hi :)

i bought this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Electronic-...ridges/dp/B003XEU0S2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

and the first 3 carts iv used have leaked

i dont want to try any more, it tastes horrible

i dont see how to attach the cart without piercing the foil covering the liquid! is that even possible? every time i "pop" the cart on the pointy metal bit pushes through inside the cart letting the liquid out.

*i just read about blowing through the atomiser. i took the ecig apart into the 3 seperate pieces (battery, cart and atomiser) but the grey metal part of the atomiser has popped out of its silver metal screw/holer section. iv since put it back in but it wont work at all! no vapour...nothing, can i fix this? iv tryed slotting the grey pointy bit back in with the little wire inside but its not working anymore*

not happy :(

I would give up on this thing and order a PV and some nicotine liquid from a registered supplier on this site. You're going to pay a little more, but it will be worth it.

I think you have to pierce the foil on the cartridges so the liquid inside can be heated by the atomizer. There should be polyfill inside with the liquid and it shouldn't leak out, should be more like a damp sponge.

If you are starting now I would tell you to take a look around the forum and you will find a lot of valuable information, and everybody here will try to help you somehow. I never seen the kit that you purchased and like NicLiq said I would dump those and try to look at the registered suppliers and find something that suite your needs. I will tell you it is not the first that will be perfect for you it takes a little adjustment, you just need to be patient and willing to stop with analogs.

I hope that helps :)

I think that people who buy those on Amazon don't know about other options. I don't know where you live, but if you are near the UK, go to E-Liquid - just about anything on that site would be so much better than the unit you purchased. Many people here have great success with a Riva 510.

ha, the instructions appear to have been translated by a chinese 4 year old thats never heard english! but i cant see how hard it can be. there are 3 sections. they all go together. but the middle section (the grey rough metal bit) dents/tears the foil inside the cart.

anyway apart from that i seperated the grey metal section from its smooth silver metal case. i then put it back in. and now it wont work!

iv looked at other sites at more expensive models but the thing i liked about these was that they are so cheap. i dont mind going outside to smoke, i dont mind the risks. the thing that i do mind is how much it costs. i dont spend huge amounts at the moment as i smoke thin roll ups but i wanted to save some money. if i start buying expensive ecigs theres not much point :(

Hello, Ive found that usually the best route to take is first getting a 2 piece unit, then after getting the hang of it you can get a 510 kit or an Ego. It has worked for me and I usually advice others to take the same route.
Funny thing is that when I started dripping I thought "god I wish I had done this earlier".
So yeah, just go ahead and get an Ego and start dripping, you'll save juice, get a better vape and it'll last you for a long time.
Cheers.

Did the atomizer look like this?:

Atomizer-500x500-500x500.jpg

If it did, it needs to look like that again for it to work. The cartridge end (that has foil over it) sits on top of that bridge, and the battery heats up the atomizer, which heats up the liquid in the cartridge, which creates vapor when you inhale from the other end of the cartridge.

yea...it looks like that. but if you can imagine pulling the rough tip out of the smooth section thats what i did. the gap where the tip used to sit has a metal wire inside. the tip section has a hole in the flat end, i dont know if the wire went inside the hole or under the tip! iv tryed both ways and no vapour at all now :(

oh, and when there was vapour the pointed tip didnt sit on the foil, it pierced a hole through it. is that normal?

Well, it might be broken now, sorry to say. There are some really smart people here who might be able to give you ideas on how to fix it. I suppose there wasn't two of them in your package?

It was okay to pierce a hole through the cartridge, but it probably would have worked better if you have just peeled off the foil and then placed the cartridge over the bridge. I don't know why it would have leaked though - they generally don't put much liquid in those cartridges. You get about 2 cigarettes worth of puffs from a cartridge like that (and the liquid they use is not very good).

Your experience is why the people who post here don't recommend products like this. If you get a PV from one of the suppliers here and a bottle of liquid, you will still be saving money vs. roll-ups.

Yes, I think you will still save money, especially if you can find a liquid you like and buy it in 30 ml or larger quantities.

Start a new thread and say, "Please help me find the lowest prices for a reliable PV and e-liquid."

It would help if you told people what country you live in too, so they know what links to post.

How to refill electronic cigarette cartridge (2 piece ecig) | Electronic Cigarette Forum

Those are cartomizers, also known as the two-piece model: a battery and a cartomizer. What you have are most likely atomizers and cartridges, a three-piece model: a battery, an atomizer and a cartridge.

Look at this guide from Cignot--scroll down to the Three-piece e-cig section and look at the pictures.

Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.

In a nutshell, the cottony, saturated part of the cartridge has to make contact with the atomizer--the heating element--in order to produce vapor.

That's the best I can do....

You broke it by removing the bridge I'm afraid. I think your expenses smoking what you do will be only slightly more than with vaping. Seems like you got your smoking habit to the cheapest point you could. Vaping will be cheaper but not by much. It comes down to if you want the health benefits.

Juice will be around $20 a month if vaping 2ml per day. If you get an atty to last you a month which doesn't always happen, add another $10 per month. you need a backup atty around which adds to the start-up cost. A 510 or 808 kit worth getting will be $30 (2 batts 2 attys and 5 carts and charger)

So you would be looking at a $30 start-up cost +$30 per month at the minimum. Depending on how much you vape. There is always the possibility of battery failure and atty failure in those cases you would be looking at an added expense of replacements. There is also a learning curve and time spent filling charging and so on.

Sort of sounds like I'm trying to turn you away from vaping but I'm just telling you the reality of vaping. I spent between $70 and $100 a month on smoking so the cost is reduced by quite a bit for me. I feel great and don't have the higher probability for cancers. So it's worth it to me. It's up to you if this is something up your ally. Good luck.
