I've been baling for the last six weeks, thoroughly enjoying myself. Last night i mixed up a batch of orange flavored nic juice, and it seemed to work just fine in both my 510 and my ego T. This morning, i try my egoT and the atty simply will not work. I tried everything i could think of, alcohol bath, vinegar rinse, boiling, hairdryer... nothing has helped. Is it shot already? This same orange mix worked just.fine in my 510 and the other atty. Not sure what i did? It sat unused all night... also i think i have burnt out one 510 battery in just about three weeks? This is getting pretty expensive, pretty quick. Can anybody give me some tips on helping the equipmentlast longer than a month? Thank you for any help you can give.

If your atty lasts a month, you're doing alright.

As for the batts, should last you about 6 months? But slowly diminishing in its abilities (I think).

I suggest you invest in a multimeter if you don't have one. Take your tank atty and measure the resistance. If it gives you a reading (between 2-3 ohms), the atty's still good. Check the center post of the atty and the batt. They may not be making contact.

...how much is "pretty expensive"...from what I've heard of the price of funkarettes in NY, for the price of a pack, you could about pick up 2 attys and for another pack, come close to the cost of a new batt...imjusayin..........
madjack:2cool:
p.s. if you get 2weeks from an atty, you've done good...anything over that is just extra gravy..........mj

On the constant use cycle best I could get from an ego atty was almost three weeks to the day (or approx 30 ml). Batteries on the other hand just keep on trucking.

One thing you *could* try with the battery if it is truly acting flakey is take a q-tip, dip it in ispropyl alcohol and use that to clean the battery tip that the attomizer makes contact with. Don't douse the q-tip (or the battery) but that place collects a lot of crud in my experience from the air holes and any leaking through the atomizer.

Fixed two batteries that I thought were dead that way but, as always, be careful because liquid and electricty/batteries do not always get along well...

Use cartomizers. Learn on Boge standard resistance ones around 3 ohms. After that your may prefer Boge 2.0 ohm LR or something more exotic LR on the Ego but the slim 510 needs to use standard resistance cartos. I use juices with 20% VG or less on them.

I only use atomizers now to test juices and to vape a few that didn't earn cartos or are thicker than I will put in cartos.

Thank you 4mehealth for such a quick reply. Are u serious that i will have to buy new patty's every month? This is starting to look like a costly adventure, what with equipment, juice, and flavors and all... I seriously need to quit but i live on a very strict budget. Rolling my own analogs cost me only 30 bucks a month in the past, now im up to about fifty (or more) by vaping if that is true. What is a multimeter if i may ask? I have actually considered trying to make my own nic juice in an effort to save a few bucks, but understand there is considerable risk, and my not being a chemist... lol...

Are you sure your Ego-T batt was charged?

Note that you always run the risk of destroying an atty while cleaning it. One trick that has worked OK for me when I didn't want to wait for an atty to dry is to pour glycerin into the tank end of the atty and inject some from the battery end, blow the atty out from the battery end, and then repeat this two more times. Assuming you didn't damage the atty in the process of cleaning it, it might still vape after you do this.

Also, be sure to try a different battery. If the atty still doesn't work and hasn't sustained any noticeable damage from all the cleaning you did, you should contact the seller. Ego-T attys typically come with 3 month warranties.

Your batt most probably has a 6 month or year warranty. Contact the seller, they'll most likely replace it no questions asked.

As far as attys go, you might want to look into some other options. Tanks are neat, but there's lots of other fun stuff out there. E.g. clearomizers and dual coil cartos.

If your battery is truly kaput check and see if your vendor has a warranty. Let your vendor know ask for some help even if they don't have a warranty. It never hurts to ask and doesn't take much time to type a short e-mail.

Attys are very hit and miss. I've had really good luck with joye attys and not so good with everything else.

Edit: I type too slow,

I have some Riva batteries that are over 6 months old going strong. My last two Joye batteries were 7 months old. I killed them with dual coil cartos I think. Even so, I'm not complaining. I have a 510 kit that's several months old and batteries are fine.

Get a bigger battery kit like an ego or e-power (that uses regular batteries, like $4 each). The bigger batteries don't have to be charged as often so they last longer.

Get some cartos. With thinner juice they can last a week or two and many people clean them. DIY is pretty straightforward.

I don't use attys- just cartomizers.

A cartridge aka cart sticks on or in an atomizer - the atomizer can break or need cleaning etc, but a cart can be restuffed and used over over - however carts generally suck, need frequent topping off, can dump their juice, etc

A cartomizer is a disposable combined cart with internal atomizer - all one piece that screws onto the batteries. Great for your favorite flavors, each flavor has its own atomizer. They hold more juice than a cart, generally need juice added less often, provide a more consistent vaping experience. I can get a week or more use out of a standard stuffing carto like Boge. Some people try to clean and dry them with mixed results and you cannot restuff them. There are also more exotic cartos like reservoir styles and clear reservoir ones that crack and fall apart (but the new CE3 ones may be better). Slim 510 would use standard resistance (2.5 to 3 ohms), and fat batteries like Ego and Ego-T can use standard or the hotter LR ones (LR also uses battery charge up faster). I think thin juices work best - I use 80PG/20VG or less VG. No problem using them on Ego-T because a cartomizer replaces both the atomizer and the tank.

BTW - orange professional flavoring (with no sweetener, such as you should have used for your eliquid) - citrus, nut and certain spice flavors are frequently oil based and difficult to use for making eliquid and I think need so extra step with alcohol?? - dunno - read the DIY section guide. And oil may also gunk up attys quicker.

Thank youso much everyone for all the great input. Can i ask, what is the difference between an attyand a cartomizer? Can i use acartomizer with my ego T batteries, or is this a completely different system?

The battery part of your ego T system is standard 510 thread and so yes, you can use cartomizers with it. The boge 2.0 is a popular choice. One of the newer cartos that several are liking is the ego mega duel coil. Madvapes has them if you want to take a look.

An atomizer doesn't have the stuffing inside it. You drip directly into an atomizer and use a drip tip to vape. It's the purest form of vaping I'm aware of. Cartomizers are a combo of an atomizer + cart with filler/filter material inside to absorb the juice. They're more convenient, hold about 20 drops of juice (for regular-size cartos) so the fiddle-factor is less and you need to top-off (much) less often.

I'm almost 7 months with my batteries and they're going stong also. I vape like a lab monkey using only LR attys so there's a lot of stress on the batts. I rinse my atomizers nightly, running hot water through them, blow the water out and they're ready to go in the AM. I get months from an atty and drip 95% of the time. When I was vaping with an atty until it was so gunked I had to alcohol clean in a sonic cleaner they'd last a week or two at best. The daily rinsing takes a couple of minutes. I haven't lost one in a couple of months, since I started the nightly rinsing. I'd love to give the poster who suggested this method credit - I can't remember who it was, dang it. The way I was going through attys I didn't quite believe it but it works for me.
