What am I doing wrong?

So I got my brand new Mini and fired it up for the first time last night. I loaded the bottle with Blue Grass Burley from Ahlusion. (amazing tobacco liquid, by the way) I put a brand new 1.8 ohm Empiremods atomizer on it. Primed the atty with 6 drops of liquid. Everything was awesome for about an hour or so. Perfect flavor and vapor. About every 3-4 hits flavor would drop off and I would give it a squonk. All of the sudden flavor/vapor started to drop off. I figured I had flooded the atomizer, so I removed it and blew it out through the threaded end. Put the atomizer back on gave it a squonk, tried to vape and it was completely dead. Tried it on an ego battery, nothing. I figured my mistake was I didn't prime the atomizer after blowing it out and killed the atty. This has never happened to me before, but this is also my first Empiremods atomizer. I put a Bauway SR atomizer on there that I have had for a while. It worked for a few hits and then it died as well! Coincidence? I have had it a while... So I took an older Joye SR 510 that I have and put it on. It works, but not very well. It's producing vapor, but not much flavor. What am I doing wrong here? Is it 3 bad atomizers? Am I continuously flooding the atty's and that's what's messing things up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you got some dud atomizers flooding them will not harm them in any way . Running them bone dry can kill a Chinese atomizer though . The mod itself is not capable of killing atomizers .

Will a flooded atomizer have extremely muted flavor? Man, that first hour was heaven...

The one thing you have to keep from doing is squonk right on a hot, dry atty. I have killed a few doing that. After a few good hits, then a dry I would squonk. Dead atty. It really hurts when you do that to a high priced atty after only about an hour!

When it is hot and dry just wait a few minutes, or draw on the atty without firing to let it cool.

Yes, hardly any vapor and not much taste if flooded. You can vape through it if you just take light draws. Works best to tilt the atty some too as you are vaping. It lets the juice move away from the coil. Beware though you can get some juice in your mouth doing so.

My first two 306 attys died suddenly. First one in a day, second in an hour. Both popped from squonking when hot and dry. I had to learn that lesson the hard way!

Still will do it once in a great while. When just not thinking and chain vaping!

It sounds like a dud. Im a big fan of empiremod's attys an use them when not using my 2.0 and never had a dud. Only one time I got 5 in and one never would fire in any of my REOs. When metered it was fine (not DOA). A closer look I noticed the 510 threads were different from the other 4 that worked perfectly. A manufacturing issue and they replaced it. Your situation is different because yours worked then stopped. All attys cheap and expensive ones can suffer from the same fatal flaw.....there frigging attys (nature of the beast). Which is why no vender will fully guarantee them. Just another reason to by a REO 2.0.

I popped attys frequently with my first Reo, even brand new ones....like you i was so excited with the quality of the vape I was squonking juice on a very hot atty.... It does help if you MUST take another hit, to blow down in the atty and get some air down there to help cool it off a bit before squonking..
